In August 2009 (or thereabouts), sam_storyteller posted The Harkness Variations. Story VIII was the inspiration for this story. My undying thanks to Sam for creating a world (and letting me play in it!) in 100 words that took me 20,000+ to write.
My thanks to wethepainted for creating the utterly beautiful art to accompany this story. She encapsulated in her art the Lisa who had been in my head since I started *thinking* about writing this story and I cannot thank her enough for that.

TARIS Wiki states the date of the Battle of Canary Wharf to be July 2007. Hence this story starts in June 2006 and ends early August 2007.
