Because it worked so damn well with The Incredible Hulk (not!)
Needless to say, I am not best pleased by this. I *adored* Superman Returns and I stand by my love of that film. No word as to whether Bryan Singer will be back in the Director's chair (or whether Brandon Routh will return as the Man of Steel) but... if they aren't, that's one less ticket sold.
Yes, I can see that they want another Dark Knight or to a lesser extent, Iron Man but I just don't think they'll get it. Though I will happily be proved wrong if said 'reboot' is as good as if not better than SR.
