AAA 2008 Taipei Final Review - Part 1

Apr 27, 2009 14:50

I've been working on the entry on-and-off over the past several months, and somewhere along the way I lost the motivation to finish it. I picked it up again after watching the Kokuritsu DVD, because it reminded me how great Taipei was.

How you enjoyed the concert if the sound system is bad?

I hate it when the sound system is bad that it makes the singers/performers sound bad when in reality, they are not. I hate it also when the singers need to shout while singing since the sound is very low and they can't hear themselves. >.>

It's very crucial in every concert to make the sound system perfect. If not, it can totally ruined the concert overall.

What I hate the most probably is the impressions new fans might have. Since they sound is so bad, they might think the singers suck at singing live.. D:

The sound system was bad, but it got better as the show went on. Besides, the atmosphere made up for it.

Besides Ohno, I don't think any of them are great singers, and I'm sure, as with every other JE concert, there are some parts that are lip-synced. I'm not into Arashi for their music anyway.

Of course. ^^ I'm not talking about Arashi in my comment. I'm just talking about any concert in general.

All JE artists know that they are idols/performers and are not singers. They also know they do not have the vocal like any other top artists in Japan. But Ohno does have an excellent vocal that somehow give a good name to JE as a whole. xD

Although Arashi overall do not have good vocals but they did sing lots of good music. ^^ Non-repetitive lyrics (like in K-Pop >_<) and a good music that makes you feel good listening to it. Plus, their technique in singing also very good since you hardly hear any breathing and they harmonized each other nicely during lives.

About lip-sync, it's no doubt. xDDD I can tell whether Arashi is lip-syning or not pretty easily. xD But what sadden me is that Ohno lip-synced for his solo in Kokuritsu. :( I know he can sound more awesome live....

Sorry for my long rants. >_>

Although Arashi don't have good voices individually, I agree they harmonize well together, although they might've sang with a backtrack during concerts.

I can usually tell whether they're lip-syncing when watching their tv performances and concert dvd's; during the Taipei cons, my tension was so high that I didn't even pay attention, plus I was sitting so far back it's hard to tell.

I'm pretty sure Ohno lip-synced his solo at Kokuritsu. I'm sad too, he's such a good singer, I'm sure he'll sound good live.

It's easy too tell whether Arashi is lip-syncing or not since Jun and Nino are really bad at it. xD Ohno should teach them how to lip-sync flawlessly. xD

Of course he will sound good live. ^^ Like his 'Song for me' performance at the TIME tour. You can even see his veins when he hit the high notes. ^____^

I haven't noticed Jun and Nino are bad at lip-syncing, but then again they're the 2 members that I pay the least attention to.

*Goes to watch TIME DVD again*
