I tried an experiment with watercolour pencils a few weeks ago.
There's this portraiture award here..... that's got a nice first prize.... and 2nd place isn't too shabby either!
Problem is that the rules say they can only accept oils, acrylics or watercolour..... and my media are grpahite and charcoal.
So - I tried to do a portrait in watercolour pencil - to see if it was managable enough to get me into this particular game..... I didn't like the result too much - it went 'daft'......
Anyway - the end result left me with an itch that I had to scratch.... so I dug out the graphite and some smooth white card (210gm hi-white) and got stuck in!
This is what happened! And I think I've got this right now......
