i had a dream that william was kidnapped by jim carrey as the main character from the lemony snicket movie. then i was in the movie 'finding neverland'. i haven't seen the movie, but i'm pretty sure my dream was pretty different from the real thing. parts of my dream movie actually took place in neverland and the movie told the story of peter pan. the story was slightly different though. instead of having two brothers, wendy has two sisters. i was one of them. about seven years old. brad pitt was playing peter pan, and when i saw him outside on the roof, i called out my line: "wendy, there's a boy on the roof! a boy!" with a british accent of course. the next scene we filmed was in a cave. the director told us that there would actually be rocks falling from the cave ceiling. we had to wear a plastic armor of sorts to protect ourselves. the costume designers had made helmets and other "clothing" items out of thick, colorful plastic bins, little tykes wagons, etc. whatever they could get their hands on apparently. there was also a very large cardboard box with arm and leg holes cut out. the box had overalls drawn on it. i couldn't find any plastic armor, so i asked the director if i could wear the cardboard overalls. he said that would be too dangerous because the cardboard wouldn't protect me from the rocks. he found me a red bucket to wear as a helmet. at first i put it on with the face cutout in the back. i immediately pulled it off, screaming, "i'm claustrophobic!" the director put my helmet on the right way and gave me yellow plastic stilt things with clear plastic springs that i held onto as i walked. i kept squishing the flimsy yellow plastic with each step. for a scene, the other cast members and i had to climb up a small hill made of a fine gray powder. the director called it 'silk' and he said he had predicted that the girls would have trouble getting to the top. it was really slippery. in the next scene, brad pitt scooped me up and carried me for a ways. i was only about seven, so i weighed all of fifty pounds or so. when i asked brad if he was really going to carry me in the movie he said 'no' and pointed to a short chubby boy who looked about nine. apparently he was to carry me. mr. pitt would be carrying the girl who played my sister (not wendy, but the other). what a disappointment.
peace, love, silky hills, and squishy stilts.
