Didn't think hurricanes were much of an issue in MISSOURI

Ike's been a bitch all over the place. Even here!
Here are the soccer fields Noe used to play on- her friends played a game here on Saturday. Not sure how deep it is, but I do know that the water has left only about a foot of the goalposts showing.

Oh we're fine. Flood insurance makes total sense now though. Seriously, anywhere can flood- now I've really seen it firsthand! Lots of people in STL are screwed. One of the busiest roads here flooded, and had lumber floating down the road- which means that my favorite camera shop flooded since it shared a parking lot with the lumberyard. I'm curious to see what happened there- that place is a lifeblood to the photography/video community here. They also do vintage photo restoration and hopefully didn't lose anybody's stuff. :P- Not to mention the probably millions of dollars of equipment they have in the store.

Across the street is a bar/restaurant called the Trainwreck Saloon- the owner was in Key West sandbagging his house there for Ike, but then had to pull down the sandbags since Ike changed course- and in the meantime, his restaurant/bar flooded here. There's a photo of him at www.stltoday.com in the basement of the bar where the grease trap overturned in the flood- and the water around him is DISGUSTING since it's all that grease swirling :P Poor guy. I feel for him- well, as much as I can feel for someone with a second home in Key West l;)) No really, it's pretty bad. Luckily all I photographed was flood stuff that was empty when it happened, although that golf course will be hurting. Hope they had insurance for that.

Hugs, I hope you feel better soon, babe. Hang in there!
