Had dinner with the neighbors tonight as a thank you for helping redo our landscaping :) IT was OK. I ordered a pork rib chop with a bing cherry sauce and didn't realize until 2 bites into it that it was raw in the middle. In college, when I was a biology major, I spent a lot of time looking into microscopes. One day we looked at meat from the supermarket. Pork is by far the filthiest meat under a microscope- in that there's lots of little wiggly things in there, most notably active being these guys; liver flukes :
SO, after I realized I'd ingested raw pork (gag), I had them reheat it and then didn't really eat much afterwards.. because even bing cherries can't make that taste better. It's hard enough for me to eat meat, but once microbiology 300 came flooding back to me, I'd had enough. Blech.
Anyway, I need to be packing for my trip to MN tomorrow. IT's really cold now. 93-45 in one week is too much of a drop to me. Yikes. I like the slow slide into new seasons- but then again I live in Missouri- no such thing.
I hope you all are doing great, and sorry to ruin your possible love of pork with this post...
