So the property hunt continues..

The 1 bedroom flat has already gone, rather to my disappointment.. So then we were down to 3.

My nana and mum went to see the 3 bedroom house.. Well.. They described it as a place they 'wouldn't keep an unloved dog at'. To use a few other descriptions.. The tiles were falling off the walls.. there was left over food (crumbs and such) from presumably the last tenant scattered all over the kitchen.. The bathtub had those scum marks you get if you leave it long enough without cleaning it, the toilet was pretty much black.. the oven they decided probably hadn't been cleaned since the day of it's purchase.. the carpets were so grungy my nana confessed she felt like her shoes were going to come off her feet if she stood still too long...

In conclusion they wiped their feet before walking back out onto the street. So that's a "maybe. If we're desperate." There are also some issues with it being tiny and with steps so narrow that my mum said it was like walking up and down a ladder. Those bother me less though, and it's hard to judge since I didn't see it myself.

So now we're down to two. I'm seeing one more later this morning (the 2 bed house) and went to see the 2 bed flat yesterday.. I have to admit unless the house is something -really- special I'm going to go with the flat.. I think I fell in love with it very quickly.. There are a couple of issues with it, but no unresolvable ones hopefully. It has a gorgeous, huge garden with room for a vegetable patch and any other tinkering I fancy doing. It's a little small inside but that will work to my advantage when it comes to redecorating as it'll mean replacing the carpets and repainting the walls won't cost an absolute fortune. It does have pretty decent storage though.. although the kitchen isn't enormouse there's a -huge- walk in pantry to store all food and such in. Huge from my perspective anyway :p

The whole place has a really.. rural feel to it. And the college is literally over the road should I decide to take any courses in the future. It's quite far from town.. but that actually bothers me less than anything. I know it'll be an objection if I insist on it after viewing the house.. I don't really know how to describe it.. The entire place has a.. wholesome feel to it. I really love it.. but we'll see I guess.

I'll likely have photos up soonish to show what I'm starting with and then new pics as I redecorate.

Stay safe y'all.
