Random Acts Of Kindness.
As some of you may be aware, this year hasn't been the best for me. Certain things still aren't going particularly well, but I also know that there are plenty of people out there who have it a lot worse than me. Unfortunately I'm still not a millionaire [I really can't work out why. I've done the lottery, like, twice now], so I can't help out financially. What I can do however, is give away art.
So here's the deal - I'm a big believer in Random Acts Of Kindness [check the site out - good people doing good work.]. You never forget when someone does something nice for you for absolutely no reason, so if you know someone that you think deserves a present, let me know. I can't promise a portrait for everyone, but I'm hoping to give away as much as I can possibly afford.
Stuff That You Probably Need To Know:
- Leave a comment here/email me [beckie.bray@googlemail.com]/leave a wall post or inbox message on my facebook page with the details of why the person deserves a portrait.
- Don't lie to me. I'm trusting you guys here, please don't make up a story just to get a free portrait. Let it go to someone who could really do with a surprise.
- I simply can't give a portrait to everyone who leaves a comment. Please don't be offended if you don't get a free portrait.
- Anyone who applies will receive a 15% off voucher for just being awesome.
- SHARE! Let as many people know as you can. Let's spread the random acts of kindness.
- I will pay for postage. However if you would like to volunteer to pay the postage for the person you feel deserves the portrait, that would help me a lot. I'll be able to donate many more portraits if I don't have to pay for all postage costs.
- Presents will include original art, prints '% off' vouchers, commissioned sketches and commissioned detailed portraits. You can't pick which one you'd like [unless I specifically ask you which you'd prefer. I'm fickle like that.].
- Don't send me anyone's personal email or home address unless they say you can. Or are really rich and looking for a partially house-trained girlfriend. [Comes with variety of animals]
- This will run until the end of the year. Or the end of the world, whichever comes first.
- Commission/portrait artist is my job. I'm pretty busy this time of year anyway [portraits for Christmas presents!] so I'll be doing this of an evening and in my time off. Please understand I can't always reply or give you a decision straight away.
That's it, I think. Simple, right? Just share where you can. I'm hoping you lovely people will get the word out there because I'm useless at things like that. I'm easily distracted by pictures of cute animals and random facts that link to wikipedia pages.
