My description of this show to my best friend: "Have you heard of Madouka? It is the most disturbing, effed up anime I've ever seen in my life. (I'm sure there's worse, but I don't watch that stuff.) It takes everything you love about cute magical girls AND PUNCHES YOU IN THE SOUL."

I have to admit, I love a good soul-punching series like this. Where it lures you in with the cute and then GUT CHECKS YOU RIGHT IN THE SOUL. And it's not like regular mahou shoujo series can't be pretty gut-wrenching in their own ways (I don't want to meet the person who didn't get a little teary-eyed over Sailor Moon at some point), but this one is just... *flaps hands uselessly*

(Though, if you want really fucked up, you should watch Narutaru sometime. :D )
