I don't think anyone entered the restaurant? You can see the audience facing the camera when someone's arm blocks it a little and that's where the Warblers are performing (who are all wearing dark jackets like the arm has), so it's one of their sleeves that blocks the camera briefly, it's just an odd shot. When you see the Warblers performing, you can see there's only a wall behind them, no entrances or anything (and they pan around a bit, so you can see there's not much there), so there's nothing back there besides them. And the music is just how Glee changes scenes a lot of times.
Even with the previous episode trying to give Blaine more character depth, somehow it just feels... forced? Like, they have this character that landed in their lap and they didn't know what to do with him, so they just shot into the dark and hoped it would stick. I don't feel like they have a plan for the character.
.....not that Glee sticks to its plans or even has very good plans and they clearly change them all the time, but I feel it even more keenly with Blaine and it's keeping me from becoming invested in him as a character. Whereas Karofsky has had such interesting scenes to really bring up some interesting layers and potential for angst, so I'm right there with you. XD
