While I'm doing my usual "oh god this is such crap, I can never show my face on the internet everrrr againnnnn because my writing is so awfullllll" dance, one thing I am pleased with about the latest fic meme is that it's gotten me into multiple new fandoms. lakjdklada i like how i'm expecting smoop and happy times and then YOU BREAK MY HEART OH MY GOD ;_;

also, i love the part about the back up. it kind of connects it to the idea that i have that cobb has a backup totem which is his actual totem, wedding ring or not (i'm not sure i buy the wedding ring theory, actually)

I TRIED TO THINK OF FLUFFY THINGS! I REALLY DID! And then Mal was like "you know what would be super mean and awful? If the shade were standing there, Dom tormenting himself with what he used to have, knowing it was gone forever" and then I was like, ....WE-HE-HE-HE-ELLLLL. and oouldn't resist.

*curious* You're not sure you buy the wedding ring theory? I'd have been more on the fence about it, but that one shot of them on the plane, of the tube strung through Dom's fingers so we could see his ring very clearly convinced me--why else would Nolan put that in, if not to signal us that hey, hey, hey, look at his wedding ring here, hey, hey, hey loooooook. XD

MAYBE NEXT TIME IT CAN BE ACTUAL SCHMOOP?? BECAUSE I THINK THAT WOULD BE ADORABLE.

i guess the thing with all dom/mal fic is that everyone knows it ends horribly - it gives all dom/mal fic this melancholic and/or dark edge because you know what's going to happen. (this is why i read crack. HAPPY TIEMS FOR EVERYONE ( ... )

I pretty much just assumed that either a) Dom changed his totem when he got married or b) because they were pioneers in the dreaming field maybe they were the ones that came up with the ideas of totems ( ... )
