laurus_nobilis reminded me of today's fannish5, because I'd been forgetting to check them. Oh, well, I'll do the two latest ones, the current one is especially awesome! NO PARTICULAR ORDER:

fannish5: I LOVE SEISHIROU. Oh my god I love him and it is probably not healthy for me to do so. He's just so intense. He's pure in a way that villains rarely are, and I just really admire CLAMP for going so far with him, every step of the way.

I have mixed feelings about Sephiroth, because I LOVE HIM LIKE FUCK. All that power and terrible past and pure potential, you said it all. But I also think he's rather overrated in his villany in-game (and that Jenova got totally gypped, given how critical a role she played in the entire thing to begin with), but then that might just be from our different fannish tendencies, so. Mind, HE IS STILL CHARISMATIC AND DANGEROUS AND KIND OF INSANE AND SMOKING HOT AND ETC.

*sigh* It's good to know I still love him so.

I also love Orihime! Initially I was all, "ugh, chick character, REJECT" but then she stood up for herself! At least until the Hueco Mundo Lust arc happened! Her imagination is all-powerful, and I love how she has one of the most powerful abilities ever, and it is based on her soul. She just tries to love and love and love, she's just a darling ♥

VS Arashi 101: C-clearly I am not keeping up with Arashi ;___;

OH MY GOD I HAVE TOTALLY MISSED AIBAJUN MOMENTS YOU HAVE NO IDEA. For some reason I pick up on Nino's subtle movements more, even though I can't keep my eyes off of Aiba. (I SWEAR TO GOD I have no idea how Aiba is so hot without actually BEING hot. I still can't figure it out; he's like gravity.) Jun, you're subtle, really .___.b

Speaking of which, I swear to god I think VSA's stylist HATES NINO. He's been very consistently stuffed into the most awful outfits ever, and it's NEVER LET UP. I can't actually look at him properly!

And the Nino-NatsuNiji episode: Nino was ACES in it, it was amazing :D Plus, Jun wibbling with love over Arashi even though he was supposed to be playing against them! YOU SHOULD TOTALLY WATCH :D :D

fannish5: Yes! What you said! Seishirou is such an interesting character because they made him complex without ever sacrificing what he was--a bad person. Was he capable of love? What exactly was his relationship with/feelings for Subaru? What was his purpose in life? There's potential for gray there, but none of it was ever built on Seishirou feeling badly about what he was or questioning that about himself. Because he didn't, not even a little.

I think I mostly agree with you on Sephiroth as well, because I think a lot of what makes him so interesting (aside from hot + power + charismastic = REALLY WINNING COMBINATION for me) is that potential that never really gets touched on. The idea that, despite being a great villain, he was also a great hero and we don't know how much he snapped on his own or if he was taken over by JENVOVA or what. The tragedy of his character (and, if you're like me, possible redemption someday, shut up, Nomura, it could totally happen) is what really makes him interesting.

I admit, I have trouble criticizing Orihime's character in the HM arc, even when I understand where other people are coming from. I just keep looking at it in terms of what Orihime's biggest problems are--namely, that she has zero self-esteem a lot of the time, so she thinks that sacrificing herself for her friends/trying to take everything out on her own without asking for help, is a great idea. But then all this shit gets piled on her there, she's terrorized and emotionally abused and frightened out of her mind and feels like she's not worth anything and sees the people she cares about, the boy she loves, hurt because of her and turned into a MONSTER right in front of her, a monster just like the one her older brother became, and it's hard for me to not understand that the whole arc is about Orihime trying to deal with that paralyzing sense of fear and being overwhelmed. That it's about her learning to reach out. (And, actually, I think that's a bit what it's like for Ichigo as well.)

AHHH SORRY I JUST HAVE ~*OPINIONS*~ AND STUFF ON BLEACH. Also, Orihime is my favorite, so, you know, I gush about her. XD

VS Arashi 101: HA. NOW YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL EVERY TIME I BROWSE THE FLIST. XD

Though, in all seriousness, I'm way more behind that you could possibly be, I'm pretty sure. And a lot of what I catch is because I can't help watching Jun the entire time, so any time he has a ~*moment*~ with someone, I pick up on it. We all have that one guy we just can't stop watching, even if we love them all or even have other favorites, I'm sure.

I... I kind of love the VSA outfits Nino has. I think you might be right... or, else, Nino really, really enjoys fucking with the audience and wearing the most god-awful clothes ever. Either that or he's pissed off more than one stylist, considering some of the performance outfits he's been put in, too. XD

WAAAHHH, I WANT TO SEE THE NATSUNIJI ONE SO BADLY. T_____T
