► - HOLY SHIT,
YANKEE-KUN TO MEGANE-CHAN IS GETTING A DRAMA and this is me with my mind just sort of blown right here! I mean, it doesn't even have an anime yet! (Not that that's stopped Japan before. But I was looking forward to it someday having an anime!) BUT AAHHHHH IT WILL HAVE NARIMIYA HIROKI IN IT. I AM SO THERE.
► - Seriously,
little comments like this are why I keep going back to
weeklyjump. They totally make me laugh.
► - So, I've been enjoying the OP threads on SA, which got me curious about other threads going on and then I found
Anime you loved because you didn't know any better and just... LOL LOL LOL, god, the memories this brings back (of TRULY TERRIBLE ANIME I WATCHED BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER) is beautiful.
► - Holy crap, there's going to be a
TricK spinoff?? I mean, I'm glad, but... it's just not the same without Ueda/Naoko. ): HOWEVER, I WANT THE NEW MOVIE SO BAD OMFG.

Arashi's Wink Up 2010.02 photoshoot is seriously the cutest thing just about ever. ARASHI AND A CUTE LITTLE PUPPYYYYYY. Plus, Jun got stuck with Ohmiya who were being totally gay together and you know he had to have spent half the time bitching about how they were OMG GROSS and how they were fucking with him on purpose because they are little rat bastards. Also, Arashi with cameras. *___* Omg, they looked so pretty here.

Wink Up 2010.03's photoshoot is pretty hilarious, too. I just imagine Jun being given free reign over the theme for this month's shoot and him being like OMG I HAVE THE PERFECT OUTFITS. :D :D :D and coming up with five separate shawl-themed outfits and spending the ENTIRE DAY just beaming because OMG ARASHI IS DRESSED WELL AND THEY'RE WEARING AWESOME CLOTHES.
Matsumoto is my favorite, for serious.

Super Mario Brothers CM has several of Nino's commercials for the Wii game and I seriously sat there and watched them all in a row because they were darling. It just further reinforces my belief that I would watch half an hour EVERY WEEK of Nino playing whatever game he's into that week and I'd probably buy it as soon as it came out in English. (I WANNA SEE HIM PLAY DQ, TOOOOOO.)
► - I also watched the
Troublemaker (short version) PV and, oh dear lord. Arashi, you will forever be my favorite retarded boyband group! I LOVE IT SO MUCH ALREADY. I love the stop motion style of it and Arashi being dorks and I love the song and everyone looks super hot in this one and AHHHH I LOVE THIS GROUP SO MUCH. ♥ The more I hear it, the more this song is seriously growing on me!
Also, Sho doing his swan move and everyone cracking up around him because it's so damn silly? Or Ohno goofing off and sticking his face right into Nino's personal space who looks like he's smacking Ohno away? Jun leaning back into Aiba's lap? The pretending to row a boat with the stop motion? AHHHH OMG I LOVE YOU GUYSSSSS.
► - One more thing I wanted to talk about re: ONE PIECE--which, yes, means SPOILERS FOR THE CURRENT CHAPTERS again--because god knows it's still eating me pretty hard. (Except for how I spent all last night feverishly consuming Totally Captivated, but I'm not ready to put my thoughts into semi-coherency just yet. Mostly I'm still just shrilly squeeing over Mookyul/Ewon like you wouldn't believe.)
Right. One Piece spoilers.
I've been rereading the Alabasta volumes (I'm just getting up to Luffy's fight against Crocodile and the rest of the Strawhats are starting to run into the Numbered Agents) and I've noticed it all along, but more things have struck me while I'm going through it. Since the Marineford arc is so fresh in my memory, it's especially noticable to me that... well, okay.
I was reading the chapters where Crocodile has the Strawhats and Smoker locked inside a seastone cage, which is the first time we see it really mentioned in the series, how seastone affects devil's fruit users and how Smoker says that it's a special type of stone that's only found in one particular area. Vivi is trying to rescue them, but Crocodile drops the (fake) key into the banana-gator's tank, which they swallow it, so she has to try to fight it off when it crawls into the room. And everything goes about how I remember it, until Sanji shows up and defeats the banana-gator and it spits out Mr. 3 who was inside a wax ball.
Then, because Crocodile dropped a fake key in/because they can't find the original key, they make Mr. 3 use his wax powers to open up the cage so the rest of them can get out. Now, this is just one more thing in a string of parallels (like Crocodile, Mr. 1 and Mr. 2 and Mr. 3 playing various roles in the Marineford arc, Ace's vivre card was given to Luffy just outside of Alabasta, etc.) but it's the one that sort of cemented my theory in place.
I think Oda knew exactly what he was going to do with Ace, down to the little details, from AT LEAST back in Alabasta. I think he set up all these little moments to establish his canon so that it wouldn't just come out of nowhere later on or he just thought they were useful ideas and wanted to use them in Alabasta, even when they'd come up again in Marineford.
I mean. It could also be that he went back to reread these chapters and borrowed from himself, but I don't think that's Oda's style. He could just think up new stuff if he wanted. But, instead, I think the plot sort of got bigger and bigger on him, that he had these ideas in his head for what was going to happen in Marineford, so he used Alabasta to establish a lot of this stuff.
Well. I mean, I'm not hardcore married to the theory, but I think it's something like that.
