1. I think fandom is slowly moving past it though. Or maybe I'm just not seeing it since I ignore fanficrants for the most part.

3. I haven't been writing X!Subaru a lot but I do try and keep the things that have changed about him in mind when I do.

I THINK THE SOLUTION FOR THE FUUMA/SUBARU THING IS FOR PEOPLE TO WRITE BOTH. I'd even be amused with genfic here.

Kamui is more complex character than people give him credit for, I think. He's a good kid and pretty often pretty sweet and cute when things are going insane and we don't usually get to see him in a situation where things aren't going to hell. But I just think he'd be a biter in bed and I have that kink I want people to write me. Fuuma and Seishirou are fairly similar in teh sexy department, though Fuuma seems to go for leather over suits (er sometimes depending on the situation), but that doesn't mean people can't mix it up some.

I also think people need to go back to the bff element. I mean there are issues between Fuuma and Kamui but there is a different history. Before Seishirou and Subaru went to hell, their friendship isn't quite what I'd call childhood bffs, not even taking into account Seishirou's motives. Look at the age difference, for one.

Also both Fuuma and Seishirou can be dorks. I want more crack fic on that. Like Subaru needs to be all angsty and angry and Seishirou should be like "I'm not in the mood to fight, Subaru-kun let's go to the zoo" and Subaru can be like "what" and then Seishirou would drag him there and then later that night Subaru can go wtf at Kamui some, since CLAMP said they're like sisters and the platonic stuff is just as fun as fucked up sex for me.

1. I like to think things are getting better, too. And I think they are, if slower than we'd like. It certainly feels like there's a better balance between focus on males and females than there was a few years ago.

3. I am totally down for both romance fic and genfic with Fuuma/Subaru, BOTH WOULD BE AWESOME. (I don't think I could pick which I would want more.)

I'm completely agreed re: Fuuma and Kamui's relationship pre-manga being vastly different than SxS'. There's also the lack of feeling like everything had been a lie since that age--it's not like Fuuma had been fucking with him or lying to him as a kid, you know? There's hope that he can get "his" Fuuma back. Subaru NEVER had that, he never thought that he could get "his" Seishirou back.

I don't mind fluffier pieces with Seishirou and Subaru, because it's possible to still keep him as a bastard who pretty much does what he wants/fucks around with Subaru even when he's not actually doing anything overtly menacing. That's part of the charm of the character--going to the zoo can be just as fucked up as anything! XD

Going the the zoo could be MAJORLY fucked up. Seishirou can be all 'do you still want to be a zookeeper' and Subaru can be like 'fuck you only I'll say it in a polite way' and then Seishirou will be like 'look at the cute penguins' and Subaru will be like '>:' and then Seishirou will be like 'when's your birthday? I can buy you a kitten' and then Subaru will be like 'DIE IN A FIRE' but only not because there are people around and then the date ends with Seishirou buying Subaru food that he won't eat.

I love stuff that's super cute on the surface, but totally fucked up underneath that. Like Seishirou and Subaru going to see the penguins. ♥ (Though, I can't decide if all the animals would be fond of Seishirou or if they'd instinctively growl at him/run away from him.)

I certainly wouldn't put it past Seishirou to somehow get animals to be fond of him. It'd be really freaking weird to see a cat rubbing up against him, while you know he could kill it and not feel a bit guilty.

Actually I think he has to be okay with animals. He was a vet. I think Subaru was probably better with them because Subaru was earnest and adorable but I think he could trick animals well enough.

....somehow, I'd managed to forget that. Wow, shows how on top of things I am. orz But, yeah, that's a good point, he'd be really good with animals, but I still think it'd be weird for other people (who know the real him) to watch Seishirou with animals.

Though, you know, I could see Seishirou liking animals because they're so simple and are exactly who/what they are.

Haha I'm remembering that because I'm writing TB fic and Seishirou is still a vet in it. :p Lol now I want like fan art of Seishirou playing with a puppy in a park while Fuuma is like :D:D or something.

I think that's very possible. It would go with Subaru loving them so much for pretty much the same exact reason. They're both socially stunted in similar ways. Seishirou is just a jerk while Subaru is a martyr.
