trailer for the fourth Layton game and, holy shit, I think I might be in love with Layton's new girlfiend and (as the first commenter said and I could not agree more) her awesome as hell parkour, omfg. Also,

It's just that I was checking a walkthrough and it kind of made it sound like I'd permanently fucked up my game if I didn't get her back right away, so, you know. Panic. _o_

(Also, I've started playing Peggle on the DS. I blame this on you because I wouldn't have played it if you hadn't talked me into getting that special cart.)

And I'm glad you're getting along in CT and you sound like you're enjoying it! <3 I'm really interested in what you said about the trial, too, and about how it subverts the usual cliche there-- I won't comment until you're out of that bit in Guardia Castle, though.

Once I started figuring out a bit more of how the game worked, how to pick up on clues and stuff, it got easier and... yeah, I was really pleasantly surprised by that bit so far, because I expected it to not make any freaking sense and then... it kind of did! (I know I'm going slow, but I'm playing, like, four different games at once. orz)

... *sits on hands*
And yeah, I don't blame you, you're playing a lot of games at the moment and you're making pretty impressive progress on them all given all the multi-tasking. I downloaded the second Layton game to play with you, and I have Crisis Core on standby, and now I've finished that chocobo game... BUT THEN I ACCIDENTALLY STARTED GYAKUTEN KENJI, THE EDGEWORTH GAME. I didn't even mean to! I just meant to check it out and I don't even like their names in Japanese but somehow I ended up playing the whole prologue until the first save! orz

I really, really like Crisis Core so far, but I can tell I'm going to get sucked into sidequest hell with this one, because I can't resist them and they're shiny. Plus, I really want to get the guidebook for this one, except I have to wait until the Dissidia one comes out, which isn't until the 1st of September, which isn't that far away, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't put CC on hold until I can get it.... And I'll get Dissidia any day now, so then it'll be FIVE games and I've got this whole comics thing that's still eating me so--
W-well, yes. You've really got time, so I would encourage you to pick up whatever game most interests you at the moment. (Though, I'll be curious to see if you play the second Layton game in English or Japanese ( ... )

... I kind of want the mega enormous CC guidebook before I start playing it. Maybe I'll wait until I'm in Japan at the end of the year for that one.
And hm, how about you primarily focus on one and swap to the others you're playing when you're not in the mood for it? I mean, not sure how much that helps, but maybe mentally establishing a priority ranking system will mean less confusion.

On the other hand, Layton movie coming up at the end of the year, so I'll get my fix sometime next year. (Want that RPG game SO BAD though omg.)
I'll keep plunking away at CC and CT, though, I'm hoping that being able to steadily blog about them will keep me focused on them. (I'm envious of how fast you get through your games, though. :< )

I'm envious of how much you can blog about your games? I'm not sure if that balances it out. I've been useless at that lately. I just want to take some time out to do an LJ post listing all the things I'm up to at the moment-- things being watched, played, studied, etc. And to do some proper game blogging.

One thing I've found about blogging is that you'll never get as much done as you want and I can't say I'll come back to it later. If I don't do it within two days, I let it go, otherwise I just get more and more and more backed up. Start small? Just keep a WordPad file open on your desktop at all times and tab over to it when you have something you want to say?
There's always going to be more you'll want to blog about, so if you don't feel like writing it at the moment, eventually you will, y'know?

Yeah, too true. Unfortunately extensive blogging is just impossible at the moment, because even university and time constraints aside, I suspect I have a maximum word limit for the day or something and I need to funnel that into big bang for the next 17 days or I haven't got a prayer of finishing in time. D: I AM TIRED AND WANT TO SLEEP BUT CANNOT BECAUSE THIS SCENE ISN'T FINISHED.

Do you have a notebook that you can jot notes in? That's usually what I do, that way I can carry it around with me and just cross stuff off as I write up blog posts about it. (Though, I write blog posts as I go when I'm reading comics, but that's different from playing a game.)
That's less than three weeks, though! YOU CAN DO IT! o/

I actually have near freakishly good recall for the kinds of things I think while I'm playing games-- I just need some kind of cue to jog my memory, and usually a walkthrough is good enough, because if I know what happens in what order I can remember how I felt about it. It starts to get a little more dubious after about two years, though. XD BEHOLD MY ABILITY TO REMEMBER TOTALLY USELESS TRIVIA! \o/
The problem is mostly time-- I have so MANY I want to say things about that I haven't yet and no time to write about any of them, not helped by how long my posts get when I finally do.

I suspect you also want to blog about every little thing and that overwhelms you to the point that you just don't do it? I know that I get that way sometimes and eventually just have to force myself to write something short. If it goes longer, great. If it doesn't, well, maybe what I had to say wasn't actually that interesting. I force myself to take the pressure off--I'll get done what I'll get done.
Though, at least you're writing fic. :/ I have this whole long epic planned out in my head, but can I convince myself to actually start it? Of course not. orz
