OMG SUBS FOR THIS SEASON ARE FINALLY STARTING TO COME OUT. *flings self at d-addicts*

You know what I need to stop doing? Going to HJU and clicking on the Kabuto threads. It pains me when people miss the point of the series, especially re: Kagami's character. And yet I keep going back! WHY. Especially when 4chan is so much better for my mental health! I love 4chan's reactions to any given Kamen Rider series, but especially ( Read more... )

I think I went into Hurricanger with certain expectations, which was probably not the smartest move (when is it ever smart to go into something with certain expectations?) but I think I'm slowly settling into letting those go and just enjoying the show for what it is.

And I don't mind waiting a bit for the show to reach its full potential, so long as I know it's going to get there. Also, apparently, there are the usual toku brothers who have the kind of relationship that Lj does not approve of? I love that kind of relationship. :D :D :D

Thankfully I'm not really super attached to any ship yet, so I don't think I'm too hung up on Red/Blue yet. Though, YOU MAKE ME CURIOUS. Is there something better coming or just that I shouldn't get attached to Red/Blue?

And that reassures me with the mecha battles--it's not that I need Sentai to drop them out all together, because I get that they're part of the genre. It's just that so many times they're so formulaic and it's like the writers are practically sleep-walking through it. What I ( ... )

Well, as mentioned, I was kind of going into it expecting Go-Onger levels of immediate crack, because I love them, but those babies were not the brightest. So far Hurricanger has not seemed all that cracky? Compared to the usual Sentai antics, I mean. XD ( ... )

nothing makes toku fans happy ._. the e-fen on the forums hate den-o! how soulless do you have to be to not like DEN-O.

Final Form Rides continue to be one of Decade's high points. By high points, I mean OH MY GOD, THIS IS A SHOW AIMED TOWARDS THE 9-12 DEMOGRAPHIC, NOT THE GURO BODY HORROR FETISHISTS

the Ryuuki world was a pretty low point in DCD though, mostly because I didn't watch the original and also how does this AU make any sense, ever, at all?????? But the Blade world was enjoyable, and then the new rider is introduced and that always kicks things into a higher gear, so I've been enjoying DCD weekly even though I don't know what's going on. ._.

Blade moves incredibly fast. I'm not even halfway yet and it's kind of amazing how much has happened already, even if some arcs are more retarded better than others. xD Apparently the main Blade writer is in charge of Decade...? I think this should explain some things, but I'm not sure what.

I can understand some hate towards Den-O for how IT WILL NOT FREAKING DIE, despite that it's well past its time, I mean, we've gone all the way through Kiva (were the Den-O cameos/references in the KIVA MOVIE really necessary?) and now we're into Decade and Den-O STILL WON'T STOP, but actually hating Den-O itself? DO NOT UNDERSTAND. DEN-O WAS AWESOME!

OH MY GOD, THIS IS A SHOW AIMED TOWARDS THE 9-12 DEMOGRAPHIC, NOT THE GURO BODY HORROR FETISHISTSI am seriously kind of impressed--which is maybe not the right word, but about the only one I can think of--at HOW MUCH it genuinely freaks me out what they do to the Riders' bodies in those scenes. How can they NOT know how horrifying it comes off on? I don't even have a squick for that, yet Decade manages to SQUICK ME OUT ANYWAY ( ... )

well I mean ._. Den-O is the rider series of my heart but I was still sort of ?????? when the announcement was made. ...which will not stop me from pining for the Cho Den-O movie until it's out on DVD at the end of the year. Or watching the new series if the rumours are true. >_ ( ... )

I... I'll probably crab about it (relying on continuing a single series forever is never the way to keep the franchise moving, imo) but I'll totally be there and totally love it. I think I'd probably feel the same way even if Den-O were the series of my heart, too.

Ahahaha, I've only watched three episodes of Ryuki, so my problem with the world is that it made no sense whatsoever, rather than that it ~*ruined*~ a world I liked. But, then, I'm not really sure what I'm expecting from Decade, if it's meant to be serious (like Faiz or Blade) or if it's meant to be comedy (like Kiva or Den-O) or if it's meant to be somewhere in the middle (like Kabuto) and that's sort of messing with me.

Though, I gotta say. Decade's henshin and attack sequences are easily the prettiest I've ever seen. *__* (Though, idk, I really liked the ones in Kiva, too. So maybe I'm just like the general trend they're going in.)

I admit, sometimes I'm a little confused about Decade. When I'm watching it, I kind of love it ridiculous amounts and, hell, that's the point of toku. To love it ridiculously and laugh along with it and maybe kind of love the guys in suits beating up other guys in rubber suits.

And then maybe I try to start ~*thinking*~ about it and just. Not every series is going to be really dark or super complex right away!

I think I'm just wary of the various AU worlds and how they're going to change. When it was worlds I had no clue on, I was just along for the lolz. But who knows when it's a world I really love! I do like that Decade is doing a lot to both separate itself from the originals (which I approve really hard of, even if some of the worlds have been... less than stellar) yet still put in all these little touches and references to the originals.

Also I LOVE TSUKASA, ANYONE WHO HATES HIM CAN JUST GTFO. He's so superior and so smug and kind of really hot when he transforms and I kind of love that smug look on his face with a ( ... )

I've only watched the first six episodes (it seems like I'm incapable of not dragging my feet on just about any series I watch, ever XD) so I think I'll need a bit more time to really notice the changes in Tsukasa's character, but it doesn't surprise me that he would have solid character growth.

And who knows. It might just take awhile to super grow on me, especially since it comes with so many expectations when you have a show that's revisiting all the previous KR worlds. XD

Plus, as;dlfjkasl;kj Decade seriously has the best suit/henshin sequences, like, everrrr. I NEVER GET TIRED OF THE DECADE FIGHT SCENES. Or the lolz they're clearly having on purpose and that are actually funny! ♥

1) Kamen Rider Decade is the current KR series and it's visiting all the past Heisei era series (so basically anything from the last nine years) and making up all these AU worlds for them. The worlds Decade visits are completely different from the originals (and meant to be that way) and Kabuto's world is coming up fairly soon-ish. So there has to be a new actor to play the role (though, they use the same suits and stuff) and it's all very... odd. But I kind of love it, too. XD

2) a;lsdkjfasl my only complaint about Kabuto is that it capped really terribly and made icon making really difficult. Because otherwise SO MANY AWESOME SCENES. SO MANY PRETTY PEOPLE. And Kagami/Tendou is just. as;dlkfajs I could talk about them forever and it would STILL NOT BE ENOUGH.

1) Interesting... I'm thinking Kamen Rider Decade should be on my to-watch list after I finish watching the KRK movie. It's really hard to decide because I'm still so much in love with KRK and what if I don't like the other series D: What if I keep comparing them DDD:

2)YOUR ICON!!! ♥__♥ oh god, I know what you mean. I feel so stifled. I have this research proposal to write but all I want to do is post about KKR and watch the movie and scrunge for more fic (there is not enough, whyyyy ;_;)

1) I would actually suggest Den-O or Kiva as your next series, they're both complete (well as complete as Den-O's ever going to get) and they'll give you a better feel for Kamen Rider as a series. They're not the same in tone as Kabuto (Den-O is far more light-hearted, Kiva is more light-hearted, but does have some serious moments, but it wanes in the middle, while Den-O is strong the whole way through) but I'd recommend them for new fans over Decade.

2) GOD I LOVE THAT EPISODE SO MUCH. Like, I know they didn't actually mean for it to come off that way, but seriously. Tendou was clutching at Kagami there and it really looked like ~*that*~. And there's not enough fic because FANDOM DOESN'T LOVE ME ENOUGH. And also I can only write so much myself or drag friends into. (Pretty much everything I've liked will be here, since I don't know how much you've found/haven't seen yet.)

I'm glad to hear the end of GARO is interesting! I like the first half, but I may just be easy to please when it comes to tokusatsu shows. XD
