So, I also finished Kiva yesterday and I'm kind of sitting here in a stupor of "...." because, wow, Japan. Kabuto will always be the ultimate in epic gay OTP for me and I don't think anything can surpass that, but you came damn close with Kiva. Also, the ending. Oh my god the ending. I will never stop laughing. Not ever.

♥ - Arashi no Shukudai-kun #130 [2009.04.13] - So, like I could resist adding in my own two cents about this episode. Of course the big thing is going to be Ailand, but. But. What I was not expecting was the talk portion in the beginning, the intro part that starts out a little over a minute in, where Jun gets this >:| look on his face and NINO MAKES FUN OF HIM FOR IT. Sometimes you love these guys a lot.
And then sometimes.
Sometimes you just. You explode with love for them.
Because Jun totally does have this sort of pissed off look on his face, which I find adorable, especially because I kind of seriously love his SMILE hair right now, but mostly because the look is so freaking adorable. It lasts only a second but Nino just immediately jumps in and mocks the scary look on Jun's face.
I have never wanted to do Nino more in my LIFE, oh my god.
Or wanted Nino/Jun bitchy makeouts so badly.
They both look really lovely right now and just. THEY WOULD MOCK EACH OTHER OUT OF LOVE.
And GOD how Nino goes from demon impersonation to SUPER FUCKING CUTE in, like, the span of literally two seconds just makes me explode with love for the little fucker.
See. What also gets me about this is the way that it shows how much more comfortable and happy in his own skin that Jun is, because Nino doesn't mock someone unless they're okay with it. Because Jun is in a good place and because Nino loves him and, seriously. The level of pining I have for Nino getting all clingy and mocking on Jun, who is like UGH GET OFF ME NINOMIYA I AM NOT SQUISHY FOR YOU IN RETURN SHUT UP is epic now. D:
And, okay. I could have done with a little less of the throwing of boobs around, but it is a Japanese variety program and I can at least relax that the Aibaland part of the show didn't set me off. Though, NINOMIYA, DO NOT THINK I DIDN'T NOTICE YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE NOT EATING. D:<
Though, I laughed really hard--knowing what was coming--when Aiba was all excited about dessert and the guest just quietly shook her head that, no, no, that was okay, and he just crumpled. Poor baby, I mean, clearly Aiba knows that it's the GREATEST DESSERT EVER HOW COULD ANYONE NOT WANT SOME!?!?
I MEAN, IT'S PUDDING IN THE SHAPE OF BOOBS, it's clearly the greatest thing ever invented. :|
And while I'd have been pretty "....." over being asked to eat that kind of thing, too, I'm kind of totally okay with it on the show because well. Ohno/Nino/Sho smelling it while Sho sticks his hand up in front of the camera to hide how dirty it looks? DO WANT. Also, OHNO'S FACE afterwards. SO SERIOUS AS HE NODS APPROVAL.
And then Aiba and Jun ask for the plate and just dive right in and, oh, Jun, sweetie. Aiba has really gotten to you, hasn't he? I love how Jun is like, I KNOW WHAT WILL MAKE AIBA HAPPY and starts this shit and Aiba just jumps right in and maybe Jun would have done it with anyone, but. It does usually seem to be Aiba who he does these things with, isn't it. :|b
And then there's the Aibaland game. Where I just. I don't even know where to start with it. I mean. They gave Arashi balloon breasts and told them to burst them however they could! Just. WTF, Japan! When I first heard about this game, I was kind of super wary about it, because, well, it could have been really horribly wrong and made me super uncomfortable, because Japan is not exactly known for being sensitive to its female guests/watchers. Plus, they're trying to burst their boobs and all I could think was OW OW OW OW OW OW and cross my arms protectively over my own chest. At least when they were flinging themselves onto the floor, chest first, as;ldkfjal;sk ow.
But. Somehow this game worked for me. I dunno if it's just their sheer giggly enthusiasm and thinking it was super great or that they never really encroached on Ayase Haruka's personal space or if I'm just weak or what. Or if I'm just weak to the way Sho and Jun actually looked pretty nice with a solid rack like they had or the hilarity of tiny little Oh-chan with this GINORMOUS RACK that WOULD NOT GET INTO SHAPE. Not even when Aiba felt him up!
Or Jun's face when Ogura-san points out that he has very nice nipples with his balloon breasts. Just. as ;dlkfjas;lkjslkj OGURA-SAN, NEVER LEAVE US.
Then the Aiba/Jun/Sho team tries to break theirs via THREE-WAY HUG and it goes about as well as you'd expect it to. As in TOTAL FAIL. So Aiba tries RUNNING AT THE WALL, Jun flops face-first onto the ground, and Sho... runs over to the bike to try to pop his. Seriously, nothing is funnier than watching Sakurai Sho with that tiny little bike and going at it so furiously!
Or when Jun finally breaks his and rolls over in pain, yet still laughing. And then he sits up and it took me a couple of times to keep watching (while getting distracted by Aiba flopping around or Sho bending over the bicycle) to notice that when Jun sits up, he has the girliest pose ever, omg.
And then Sho finally gets his popped and rolls over in pain and just. a sl;dkfjalskj this is the best episode ever.
Then. Then it is Ohmiya + Ayase Haruka's turn. The first thing they do? TRY TO CORNER HER, OF COURSE. While she backs away, still giggling, but Ohmiya's faces are just completely dead serious and as;ldkfja;lksj I love the little devil shits. At least until she tries to whack Ohno's chest and punch Nino's chest and then OHNO'S FACE. His adorable little >_o face!
Finally Haruka just stomps on hers and Ohno goes over to Nino--who is fluttery and nervously backing away--and pretty much proceeds to hump Nino on national television. Awesome. Who can really only just hang on while Ohno has his way with him. :|b
But that doesn't actually break them. So, next step, they do the same as the Aiba/Jun/Sho team and fall flat on their chests on the floor to break them. This works for Ohno, but not for Nino. And then comes my favorite bit in the whole entire episode, for serious.
While Nino is shrieking how scary this is (the popping of the balloon) Ohno just sort of goes over to him when that doesn't work, then flips Nino over and sits on him, despite Nino's girly shrieking protests.
I just.
Ohno has just completely had his way with a shrieking, flailing Ninomiya twice on national television. This is why I love Ohmiya. Sometimes fandom makes me forget it a little bit, but then they do something like this and I remember that I love the little devil bastards so much. Of course Ohno does that to Nino. Of course.
A lot of this episode went over my head without subtitles, of course, but it was still a super excellent episode and I cannot wait for the subs of it. Hell, it was great enough to get me to start working on another Arashi post in the same week I'd already posted one. And to take more than just a couple of screen caps! :O
♥ - VS ARASHI #45 [2009.02.28] subbed - Since I'm so behind on VS ARASHI, I picked one out at random to watch and got the one with Degawa and Edo Harumi! \o/ I probably should have tried to find the one with Shinagawa and Narimiya, but this one was right here, okay. :|
And right off the bat they start screwing with Degawa, Jun's like, wait, why are you here again? :| or saying that the audience can totally talk over Degaway, it's fine. <3
The first game is Pinball Runner and, you know, it's interesting that they have Edo Harumi (the female guest) as the runner this time, while Degawa (the male guest) is in the supporting role and I know it's because she did the 2008 24hrTV marathon run, but it's still interesting that I think it's one of the first times I've seen a female guest run when they're partnered with a male guest. I'm glad that no one blinked twice at it, too.
And, okay, they give the guests a bit of a handicap, but it's because they're older, so, well. I'm okay with that. Plus, they didn't get any of them (because Degawa wouldn't say where the pink balls where) and Nino gathers them up and is like, "Well, if you want pink balls, they're here. :|" while holding them in his arms and as;dlkfjas;lkj I love that little shit so much.
So, then it's Arashi's turn. And they're saying that since they took the pink ball out of their own turn (since Degawa begged them so hard) that they just need to catch 8 balls to win this round. And Sho starts thinking that their record was, like, 13 balls once and Degaway and Edo are like "--eh!?" so Sho quickly says, no, no, it wasn't me! (It was Ohno.) His own record is like 8 or 9, he thinks. "Nope," Itou-san totally rats him out.
Ohh, so maybe it was more than that? Jun says. 9 or 10? Sho says thoughtfully.
"Nope," Itou-san says as he prepares to rat Sho out again. And, sure, enough, Sho's record was only ever six and Itou-san just. a ;sldkjfal;skj oh my god, I love him so much, he is so beautifully snarky up there in the sky. I mean, Sho's FACE OF PAIN when Itou-san points out, well, actually, it's been five months since Sho was even allowed to try this game.
And, of course, Sho fails pretty spectacularly and I think he just doesn't put on enough of burst of speed when Nino starts calling the numbers, so they go flying by when he's only halfway there. But it's worth it to see Nino laughing at Sho because he totally loves his BFF.
It's also totally worth it for, when they start Rolling Coin Tower, Itou-san points out that they're 90 points behind, something they haven't been in awhile, what does Matsumoto (who's playing this one along with Ohno) think of that? The look Jun gives in Sho's direction. The way Sho does a fist pump and gets this look on his face while Aiba and Nino give him :| looks.
Also, you know who I love? Ohno. When asked if he has any words before they start, he quietly responds, yes, I'll try not to knock anything over. a ;lsdkfjal;skjs way to be totally into it, Oh-chan! o/ And he continues to be half-hearted about it and they say that, NOOO, you can't be like that, you'll have lost mentally already then! And Jun's like SIGH, somehow we're not doing so great today. :/
Ohno looks at him seriously and immediately says, no, you shouldn't think like that!! And I LOVE HIM for being a little shit like that. Also, jeez, that was a really nerve-wracking RCT game, I know it's just a silly game and yet it was such a wobbly tower omg.
Then Falling Pipe Catch and as;ldkfjaslk;j DEGAWA VS AIBA. IT WAS GREAT. Two cheerful idiot types who are crap at strategizing/not giving their strategy away and everyone else is just standing by like, "......" and then Aiba misses all but 10 points but has to point out that, when Degawa said (during the taunting bit) that he wanted to be more popular with girls, so he had Nino teach him magic, but he sucked at it, and Aiba says THAT IS NOT WHY I DID IT. D:< And they get into a screaming match over it.
And just.
a) LOL LOL LOL and b) Aiba yelling at people, especially right before he starts laughing at the same time, is REALLY HOT OMG. Seriously, he would make a hot as hell Yankee type.
Then Degawa manages a double catch because he got lucky with choosing the right numbers and then it's Nino's turn and Edo says some interesting stuff while trying to distract him. She says that, when he was in elementary school, he was so good at Tetris that he was bullied for it, right? Nino says, yeah, he was bullied a lot. And Edo starts to say, ever since then you've hated to lose-- and drops the pipes, but.
as;dlfkjasl noooo, go back to Nino answering questions like that! Because we already knew that, yeah, he's good at games and he was bullied as a kid, but I was curious to know if that was part of what makes him hate to lose so much! You'd think it'd be the opposite, that he'd associate winning with being bullied, but you never know with someone like Nino.
Amusing that he gets a double catch here, though, meaning that Arashi wins! o/ Nino's YAAAY NOW I'M POPULAR! \o/ reaction was super hilarious, too.
There's not a lot of really outstanding stuff that happened in this episode, but it was really solid and brought the lolz in the usual VS ARASHI way, so it's totally worth watching, imo.
♥ - Yamada Tarou Extras "Silly Talk" subbed - Well, as long as I was in an Arashi mood, I went for this one as well. And ;alsdkjf;alskj I have been in such the Sho/Nino mood lately that this was a great treat. It's only about 11 minutes long, so it's not a huge time sink, but it has Nino and Sho just messing around with hypnotism and you can just see Sho trying not to crack up when Nino starts almost laughing.
And the whole thing is really great, it's pure Nino practically clinging to Sho because he loooooves his BFF. The talk about stuff in the past (what made Sho mad recently or what have you) and Sho keeps trying to escape by pretending someone called for him, but Nino keeps tugging him back to pin him down with these questions, is super great. And finally, FINALLY Nino is about to tell something of his own, after having put Sho on the spot for the last several minutes, and he starts off telling about when he was about five or six, before he was even in school, there was the feel of--
And someone calls for him, so Nino gets up and walks off to go see what he's needed for. The look on Sho's face. I laughed so hard, Sho's life it is SO UNFAIR, you guys. :<
Basically, the whole thing is one big excuse for Nino to fuck with Sho and it's beautiful. Especially the last bit where he's got the camera practically rammed into Sho's face, but then makes him do an impression of his favorite soccer player and you can hear the staff cracking up through the whole thing, and finally Sho relents. He starts his impression and a group of girls just totally giggles at his embarrassing impression and just.
WHY IS HE DOING THIS, YOU GUYS? THIS IS EMBARRASSING, HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO IT AGAIN!
Except Nino is his tiny BFF and Sho is weak to his tiny BFF. It was just. So much fun.

Because we already knew that, yeah, he's good at games and he was bullied as a kid, but I was curious to know if that was part of what makes him hate to lose so much! You'd think it'd be the opposite, that he'd associate winning with being bullied, but you never know with someone like Nino.
Amusing that he gets a double catch here, though, meaning that Arashi wins! o/ Nino's YAAAY NOW I'M POPULAR! \o/ reaction was super hilarious, too.
There's not a lot of really outstanding stuff that happened in this episode, but it was really solid and brought the lolz in the usual VS ARASHI way, so it's totally worth watching, imo.
♥ - Yamada Tarou Extras "Silly Talk" subbed - Well, as long as I was in an Arashi mood, I went for this one as well. And ;alsdkjf;alskj I have been in such the Sho/Nino mood lately that this was a great treat. It's only about 11 minutes long, so it's not a huge time sink, but it has Nino and Sho just messing around with hypnotism and you can just see Sho trying not to crack up when Nino starts almost laughing.
And the whole thing is really great, it's pure Nino practically clinging to Sho because he loooooves his BFF. The talk about stuff in the past (what made Sho mad recently or what have you) and Sho keeps trying to escape by pretending someone called for him, but Nino keeps tugging him back to pin him down with these questions, is super great. And finally, FINALLY Nino is about to tell something of his own, after having put Sho on the spot for the last several minutes, and he starts off telling about when he was about five or six, before he was even in school, there was the feel of--
And someone calls for him, so Nino gets up and walks off to go see what he's needed for. The look on Sho's face. I laughed so hard, Sho's life it is SO UNFAIR, you guys. :<
Basically, the whole thing is one big excuse for Nino to fuck with Sho and it's beautiful. Especially the last bit where he's got the camera practically rammed into Sho's face, but then makes him do an impression of his favorite soccer player and you can hear the staff cracking up through the whole thing, and finally Sho relents. He starts his impression and a group of girls just totally giggles at his embarrassing impression and just.
WHY IS HE DOING THIS, YOU GUYS? THIS IS EMBARRASSING, HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO IT AGAIN!
Except Nino is his tiny BFF and Sho is weak to his tiny BFF. It was just. So much fun.
God, I love this fandom.
