*rubs eyes tiredly* You know, you wouldn't think that Sentai would be that draining, but it really kind of is. At least when you watch over a dozen episodes of it in a single day. I'm switching between Gekiranger and Dekaranger right now, because I love both a whole lot, but it's... it's definitely Gekiranger that has finally officially gotten

But I'm wondering if we'll even get many more deaths if we're getting into the second half, where it's about exploring "what it means to be human". If they have Naruse unable to let this go as a part of being human, then I can see more deaths, but if it's a "learning to forgive" thing... well, I suppose we'll see soon enough. (as;lekfjaslj the Naruse/Shiori scenes were just so. So good and brilliantly done, I love Shiori's actress almost as much as I love Ohno.)
WHY NO MORE OT3 LOVE, FANDOM, WHY?! ;_______;
I can only assume that it's because the fandom hates us and doesn't want us to be happy. I generally assume this is the reason for a lot of the way fandom writes Aiba, too. At least the show itself is awesome, though, and I'm hoping that you're right, that they'll just keep on going with the show, even if it changes format/names. They've had it for years and, hell, their ratings right now are STILL better than previous years and Arashi is still a strong ticket. (Until I actually see any sort of definitive proof that that rumor has any real basis, I'm not going to take it seriously--it probably came from where? 2chan or something? I know fybabe talked about it, but it's just a fannish rumor. We get a LOT of rumors. Not saying it's not possible--and part of me does fear it--but until there's anything substantial....)
I-- I kind of liked that they made Sho play Rolling Coin Tower by himself? They weren't really being mean about it and Sho seemed to be having fun with it and it put him in the spotlight, which is always a good thing. They cheered him on and Ohno helped hand him the coins and everyone congratulated him on his win and Sho came out looking really awesome! So, I didn't think it was bad for Sho at all? XD (On the other hand, I'm not overprotective of Sho like I am of other members, so, I'm less prone to seeing it. XD)

Arashi fandom is a lot bigger than it used to be, yeah, and it's not that I'm begrudging people the Ohmiya or the Aiba/Sho, more that... I'm begrudging them the crappy Ohmiya and Aiba/Sho fic. Seriously, you guys, a lot of that is just BAD. (Though, it feels like most of the people who write OT5/mixed pairings tend to not post on jent_fanfics as much. Not that I can say anything, I don't either. >__>)
It helps, I think, that Sho's learned to embrace his fail on purpose and is really comfortable with it, way more than a lot of others are with it. It's funny because he's not fail, because he's so smart and so successful, which makes me actually love Sho all the more and want to totally marry him even more than before. But, again, Sho's not my favorite, so I'm probably going to have a different view. Same for how Jun is my baby and YOU SHOULD ALL STOP PICKING ON HIM, YOU BITCHES, YOU GIVE HIM LOTS OF HUGS RIGHT NOW while other people would be laughing their asses off. XD

I was crabbing about this the other day, actually, and maybe it's mean or unfair of me, but I kind of suspect that a lot of authors in the fandom are writing fic based on other people's fic, rather than on the guys they see in the actual shows. I often question if they're actually even watching any of the shows or if they just skip right to the cracky parts and ignore that there's clearly deliberate playing certain aspects of personality up.
But mostly I think it's that a lot of authors in all of JE fandom aren't really interested in anything other than their typical yaoi fanfic cliches and flat stereotypes. Who knows, I don't actually know anyone or their motives, I stopped reading jent_fanfics quite awhile back, maybe things have gotten better. But I think there's a reason the place gets mocked a lot.
Anyway. XD I imagine it probably would have come off a lot worse if Sho had one, though, I wonder how Arashi would have reacted then? If they'd had gone, well, now you're not allowed to play that game anymore~ or if they'd have said, it's all right, you gave it your best and that was really tough! Because I do sort of feel like they've backed off with the Sho mocking a little lately. Whether because they've moved on to a new target or otherwise, I'm not sure, but. XD

You really gotta dig to get to the good stuff. I check in on it from time to time but generally if I don't know the author, I don't read.
I'm pretty much the same way. If it's a pairing I'm super-interested in or someone I trust recommends it, then I'll try it, but that doesn't really happen very often. It's gotten easier because I'm more interested in canon anyway, but sometimes I do miss having good fic to read. And you're not too sensitive, that kind of thing bothers me all the time, because it's like. I realize we're fans of a sparkly Japanese boyband factory, I realize that it's all really pretty ridiculous.
But it's like so many authors have no sense of any reality at all. In some ways I can't blame them, the guys in the band obviously do play up the overreactions to everything, the surprise over the littlest things or thinking something is SUPER AWESOME when it's clearly not really that great. But it sort of really deeply irritates me when Aiba (who tends to get the worst characterization) is written like a five year old or someone that no one respects at all. He's a hard worker and he's sempai to a lot of people in JE and they would not bypass that. Not unless he gives the okay for it first. (Not that I've read the fic you mentioned, since I don't read much NEWS fic--I'm just going on in general here.)
It is kind of sad that they're missing out on the little things. Because, yes, it's fun when Ohmiya kiss each other or hold hands or squish up against each other. It's fun when Ohno acts like a space cadet. But it's even more fun when you realize that sometimes Ohno is using that spacey personality to be a little shit to his bandmates, because he's totally spacing out on answering an easy quiz question while Nino runs on the cornstarch mix to be a bastard.
asd;lfkjasl;jk I should stop now, because once you get me started.... XD (I'm actually pretty happy in fandom, though. There are some AMAZING and seriously clever and brilliant people talking about the band and you guys have no idea how much I love you all, because I was SO LONELY when there were only, like, four sane fans in the fandom. XD)

It's terrible because I love Ohmiya. Like, a lot. And so often it comes with a side-helping of awful Sho/Aiba. I just...WHY, FANDOM?
Side note: The only Arashi pairing I have a hard time picturing is Ohno/Aiba. And I don't mean I can't picture them having sex and laughing it's that I can't picture them getting into a serious relationship together. Why is this?
