So, I had a long thing written up, wondering where all this JE vs Kodansha thing was going and why it happened at all (my assumption basically boils down to: business as usual that got out of control because JE's usual guy who handled this stuff passed away recently and while things are fine for now, who knows what Kodansha/SG's going to hit them

Really? Oh man, I hadn't heard that. I mean, that definitely makes sense, because I was wondering to myself how things could have spiraled out to this degree considering JE's normal policies, the ties they had with Kodansha, etc. etc.

I've read it a couple of different places (though, I think they might have been different translations of the same article posted about it) and it... well, explains a lot. Because this really did kind of seem like not that much worse than usual, except it leaked a lot faster and wasn't handled as smoothly, so it was one big clusterfuck that we're not going to see fallout from for awhile, I suspect.

The one time I'm thankful for JE's grip on the media, though, and it comes because I'm feeling protective of a sparkly boyband. ... orz

YES. A photo shoot where they smear paint on each other OR give Nino and Jun paintball guns and let them go wild. FILM IT, EVEN. Seriously, I want it so bad that I practically claw at the walls just thinking about it.

You know, we're so spoiled. We get several shows a week (three regular ones, plus MAOU, plus whatever other promotional stuff they do) and alskdjfalksj IT IS STILL SO HARD TO WAIT OMG.

I love your brain a whole lot right now. Especially since I just imagined them giving the hose to... well, any of the members of the band and telling them to go hose their bandmates off and it would just. It would be a bloodbath waiting to happen as soon as Jun either had the hose handed to him or some little bitch who was about to die tried to turn the hose on him.

I kind of wonder why NEWS doesn't have their own show, they're a pretty hot band right now, aren't they? You'd think there'd be a call for them to get their own show. But that is one thing I like about Arashi--even if it's hard to keep up with them and fangirling them makes me unable to have the time for other bands, they never stop feeding me. Like, no other fandom has ever had THIS MUCH MATERIAL, not even Prince of Tennis. *___*

I am, I admit, terribly disappointed that you can't remember where the Aozora subs came from, because I haven't seen them at ALL and want like a wanting thing. I have that DVD, but I don't have a rip of it, OR subs.

But, re: the food roulette segments. I wonder if they're doing that on purpose. Cause Ohno isn't talking much in them. And this is around Maou filming, right? If he's tired from that, plus all the extra filming they're supposedly doing for when Sho leaves for Beijing, and doesn't one of the others have something going on right now? I can't remember. But still, 3 shows, and didn't they just finish/are in the middle of a concert tour/thing too?

The segment might just be a 'let the boys take a breather and while we're at it, let's show again just how much Ohno likes eating pretty much anything, (and let Jun play with his toy gun a lot.)' Of course, I say this having only seen the first one, so the second might be totally different. But still, it might be a good way to give them a working break?

I don't know if they're doing it on purpose, but if they are (and I think it's certainly possible) I would be a lot more forgiving towards the segments. They obviously filmed both of the segments on the same day, so hopefully that gave Arashi some extra time off in between, especially since I know they're pre-taping a lot of stuff for while Sho is in Beijing, it has to be putting a lot of pressure on their normal schedules already.

I figure that Ohno's quiet because of MAOU and everything else that's going on at the same time--he's been quieter than usual practically every episode since MAOU started--which they let him do because they know he's tired.

I still can't help feeling that there's got to be some better way to let them have a break while still making it interesting, though. :<
