Carolyn gave me this german children's book for my birthday, and it is SUCH a cute story! It starts from the front and the back and is 2 parallel stories that meet in the middle, about Rosalie und Trüffel, 2 pigs. This is my favorite part of the text:
Rosalie liegt am liebsten unter einem Apfelbaum und träumt.
Rosalie träumt von der Liebe.
"Weißt du nichts Besseres mit deiner Zeit anzufangen?" fragt Rosalies Vater manchmal. "Du könntest Französisch lernen oder Ballett tanzen oder ein Instrument spielen..."
"Ach, wenn ich so viel Zeit hätte wie du," seufzt Rosalies Mutter, "was ich da alles machen würde...!"
"Aber ich MACHE doch etwas," sagt Rosalie. "Ich träume."
Which translates as:
Rosalie likes best to lie under an apple tree and dream.
Rosalie dreams of love.
"Don't you know any better way to start spending your time?" asks Rosalie's father sometimes. "You could learn French or Ballet dancing or how to play an instrument..."
"Oh, if I had as much time as you," sighs Rosalie's mother, "what I would do with it...!"
"But I DO do something," Rosalie says. "I dream."
And that is just the best.
