1. Happy Passover. As part of the holiday celebration I want very much to have a letter writing effort in support of freedom. I'm a lax and lazy leftist, so I'm not sure where to write. O internetz, can you help?
2. I was supposed to be on spring break this week. I had a couple of days mostly off, but really? When you're the new kid, and the person who gets you tons of work says "Hey! Jump" you ... jump. Sigh. I had many ideas of what to do with spare time, but I guess I need to keep, uh, climbing. There's something ironic about climbing the ladder when you work in education. I'll stop there, since I hate sounding bitter about the relative status of my field in the global scheme of things.
2a. I am oddly relieved that not a single person has signed up for the summer program that I co-run and teach language at.
3. My favorite kid ever who is impossible and oppositional defiant and a PITA and brilliant came over and we made chocolate thumbprint cookies. I love that I can do this. I'm still new in my carreer. I suspect that in years I won't ahve the space to make this kind of connection as much, or the inclination to play this kind of mentoring role outside of sessions, but right now, with this kid, it feels important and I welcome the chance to do it. She's kind of a mini starbuck, headstrong with attitude and brilliance and confidence and a healthy distaste for authority, and I want to make sure she has a space where she can be who she is without anyone trying to squelch her.
4. I have started my business plan for a clinic. OMG. OVERWHELMINGLY HUGE PROJECT HI. and omg, so much other writing to do. Just shoot me, okay? Wait, but no. I'm oddly ... exuberant! Why could that be?
5. Mammal mammal springtime mammal hormones mammal poly mammal.
6. It being passover, my yoga teacher told us that if we put lamb's blood at the top of our mats he would leave us alone during class, and deliberately not kill us. AWESOME.
