1. Seven years ago I ran a marathon. You want intense experience? Work up to it steadily, then pass the twenty mile marker for the first time. Don't ever use an ipod. Just teach your brain the discipline of how it feels to go. One. Step. At. A. Time. Then after you pass the 20 mile, you keep going until you think you can't, and then its done. And you're a little bit sad about it.
2. I miss that feeling.
3. Not at all tangential to this is the fact that my knees, ever since then, have been popping. This week they are popping exceptionally loudly. I am part beatbox.
4. I think I must hang up my running shoes. Really and truly. It has been recommended. Biking yes. Walking yes. Yoga yes. Running no more. Its okay.
5. I am considering a yoga teacher training. This summer? Don't knwo. But sometime. I can say it is part of my professional development, as it ties in niccely with the mindfulness curriculum I'm trying to refine for my ADHD kids.

I'm going to take Zero on another hike someplace pretty on Sunday afternoon. Join me! (I'm actually planning ahead here) I will also be going on Weds or Thursday evening next week. Come otu come out its pretty and green now.
