i've decided it's been long enough that people might have forgotten i existed, so i write again.
some highlights of the past two weeks:
the world's worst math test.  seriously i have no idea where to begin with half the problems.
cleaned out radio station; this took four hours, but it's beautiful now!
got accepted to bryn mawr, dickinson, and hamilton; waitlisted ordenied everywhere else, including barnard and bowdoin, my loves. i love bryn mawr and hamilton too tho, so wahoo
gold medal national latin exam.  that surprised me a bit.  now i've got to write for the scholarship.  only a thousand, but every bit counts, which is why i'm also applying for a navy one, and believe it or not, one for the daughters of the confederacy.  it's so shameful.
that's about it.
last weekend is a blur.  i packed while watching arabian nights on sci-fi, and then jay randomly called and asked to come over.  so he showed up at about 10, we talked for a couple hours.  it was so nice to just talk about things with someone.  i mean i talk to gus, but we pretty much don't talk about opinions and we have no mutual friends, so a lot of conversation is out.  anyway, i then woke at 3 to pack more for bryn mawr weekend, and left at five.
bryn mawr was frightening at first.  i'm really shy when it comes to new situations, but also really forboding.  i think of myself as the scary really tall person.  i was the most preppy person there, which i had decided to go for.  i'll leave my insane thrift outfits for when i go there.
i met a couple of really cool people, but it was almost as though we needed another two weeks.  of course then it could have turned into cty...but without boys or classes, so no.  a really cool and intelligent girl name mariel knows yael, whom i know through cty posts, and i met a girl (maggie lloyd, for any pennfield folk) who knows rachel, and jason bazarsky's girlfriend, but other than that, i had no connections to anyone.  it was great.  i haven't had that since seventh grade....i never thought i would actually miss that.
