kurt vonnegut died last night. as i never knew the man, i can't say that i cried or anything, but it was definitely a sad moment. i called my mom and we talked about it for a while, and then she asked me, "can you think of any author, of your generation or not, who can be compared to him?" and immediately i said no. vonnegut was definitely one of a kind. his work was original and revolutionary. i told my mom, "he almost is in a genre by himself."
