Amazing Grace

Almost a year since I posted. Amazing things have happened. I have been out driving with my husband, and haven't damaged anything or anybody. David, our younger son, decided to join the National Guard. Managed to get a $10,000 bonus and all his college paid for. His GT score is high enough to qualify him for anything, even OCS. He has finished Basic Training and is now in AIT to train for his job. This would have been his senior year in high school, but he took the GED. The most amazing thing is that our older son is about to become a father. The baby's due in April, and looks from the sonogram as though it will be a boy. Mack is training to be a chef at a fancy country club, The Ledges. He is being trained by two chefs who trained under Frank Stitt, of the Highlands Bar and Grill in Birmingham, and who has a beautiful cookbook out, using Southern cooking made a little fancier. Mack is ecstatically happy there. Finally, a job and a career he can spend the rest of his life learning. He does well at fast-paced jobs, and has a natural talent for the combining of ingredients. I am so happy for him. I pray that finally his life is coming together. He has, finally, a good woman who loves him and is strong enough to hold him to the right things. I can't wait for the baby - I'm gonna be so happy being a Grandma!
