I should change the title of this journal to "A Girl and Her Omnipresent TV"

I should be reading about Medieval art, but instead I've been rewatching Dead Like Me, which is an extraordinarily good show, and I really wish there had been more than two seasons of it. (I own approximately ten zillion TV shows on DVD, if you've been wondering about my rewatching habits. It's the newfangled version of taping every TV show we watched on VHS, which is what we did in my family when I was young. I think it's something of a packrat instinct.) Anyway, point is, this episode guest stars the guy who played Joshua on Dark Angel, and it's totally bizarre because the way he moves and his line delivery are exactly the same, but he didn't have the dog makeup, and he was putting on a Texas accent. So when he was just standing there, he looked like someone totally different, but every time he moved it was pure Joshua. I think recognizing actors in different contexts is one of my kinks. Like, this girl who was in an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? showed up on Veronica Mars (like, twelve years later) and I got really excited when I saw her. And I love watching actors I like play wildly different roles for the sake of comparison - this is the main reason I find Michael Rosenbaum attractive: his ability to be a zillion kinds of people. (Although the part where I look at Tosh on Torchwood and think "Nicola from the Spice Girls movie" is a wee bit embarrassing.)

Do any of the rest of you have this kink?

Also, do you know of any Dead Like Me fic? Or fic of DLM crossed with other things? I think it's one of those things (like Sandman) that just begs crossovers.

ETA: While I'm making random TV posts, I have a couple of requests for a fic I'm writing obviously not writing because I don't have time and it might end up involving threeway porn that would be dirty and wrong. I need good pictures of Jensen in his kilt in TIH and clips of interviews with Danneel. I don't care what she's talking about, but I need to know what she sounds like when she's being herself. As much as RPF has nothing to do with real people, I find it much easier to work on when I can hear the voices of the characters I'm writing about, as opposed to just seeing their faces.

good television, random questions, fic becka wants to read, fic becka's *not* writing, public
