Decided, in a fit of ... something ... to rewatch all of series 5 before watching episode 10. What this has meant in practice is that I didn't watch episode 10 until quite late. So late that I have a whole separate instance of Firefox open with tabs out to there *points* with episode ten related posts. In rewatching the series, I find that I still enjoyed it all. Well, I could have done without some of the Silurian stuff in 5x09 (I ignored most of that), but other than that, I'm still finding it a fun ride. I'm not quite as invested as I have been in previous seasons, but that's probably for the best.
I was relatively unspoiled for 5x10, but I had seen the trailer and
an episode teaser that had bits from three different scenes. So I was trying to keep from reading those tabs as I was opening them for later, but I could not help noticing that a number of them included the phrase, "I actually cried over this episode! I never do that!" or "Haven't cried over Who in awhile!" or something like that. Which concerned me somewhat. :-)
Ah, poor Amy. Crying over someone she doesn't even know she's missing.
Ack. Doctor: "Amy, Rory - " Amy: "Who?"
*sniffle* Poor scared, blind alien creature.
Awwww, Vincent, Amy and the Doctor lying on the ground watching the stars.
Eeeeeee! They showed him the TARDIS!!! They took him on a trip! OMG, they showed him his paintings!
Amy: "I'm not really the marrying kind." *wince* We kind of knew that already, but, ah Rory.
*sniffle* Poor Amy, hoping that Vincent would have lived longer.
And OK, yes, I got a little teary-eyed too.
Also, Bill Nighy! In short, this was a FABULOUS episode.
