"Flighty and indecisive" aren't words I'd attach to you.uberscribblerJuly 19 2009, 12:23:02 UTC
I never understood the expectation that the anyone should have a clear-cut path decided for themselves by the time they were twenty. Any fool knows 'life' doesn't conform to anyone's plans or expectations, and so imposing that kind of absolutes on others, especially the young, is no more rational than expecting an infant to stand up and start walking as soon as they were out of the womb.
The newspaper clearly wasn't working out for you; you made that clear back in April. I'm presuming it wasn't a major metropolitan daily but a local sheet; my own experience in such environments (I did some schedule work in the Sports department of my hometown paper back in the mid-1980s) is that its more clique-ish than the average High School...and only marginally more mature.
Going into the RAN*? Smart move, in my estimation. There's nothing 'mercenary' about acknowledging one's material needs and finding a decent way of meeting them. Communications is also a vital if often underrated niche in any organization. Are you heading in as an officer or enlisted?
At the risk of inciting the wrath of bec, does this mean we should just forget about "Reparations" ever being finished? You've enough on your plate and I don't want to be cluttering up your inbox with twice-monthly missives asking "Any update soon?"
Regardless, I wish you well in your next endeavor.
