Leoben strikes true every time he speaks to her.

This is what amazes me about his character. I remember reading that the Cylons are supposedly based on archetypes. Leoben is the warmonger and misinformant. But that whole Kacey thing aside, when has he ever been truly deceitful to Kara? I think in his dealings with her he goes against not only the other Cylons, but against his very own make-up. I kind of wanted him to be more than just a tool for exposition and while I can’t deny that that is a large part of what he’s doing, I have to say that I really think exposition is a major catalyst in and of itself. Kara isn’t one for introspection and Leoben forces that one her. All these things about her own destiny that she’s mocked are going to come out, and these questions she’s afraid to ask are going to be answered. More than just filling in the gaps of her blackout… this information is going to move her into the next stages of her “destiny”. Which makes me think that Leoben’s disappointment at his own insignificance in the scheme of things is actually premature.

Lee’s fucked! I wonder which of those three scenarios is the most painful for him.

Well I don’t really think any of those are entirely acceptable for Lee… but the thought that he’d lost Kara not because of some grand Cylon scheme but his own lack of faith? I’m going to go with that one. Because Lee lurves his angst.

It's fascinating, isn't it? Leoben is so completely focused on Kara at all times. His obsession probably outweighs Lee's in the long run.

Oh yeah, me too. Death or the Cylons gives him somewhere to place the blame. His own lack of faith sits squarely on his shoulders.
