Smiling a true smile for the first time in many months, I kept replaying Dawn's question to me over and over in my head.
“What are we going to do now?”
We were going to live. I was going to raise my sister like a normal child would raised, give her the opportunities I might not have been able too before being the only slayer....
I stopped, almost gasping. I am not the only slayer, not anymore. I can live a normal life now too...well as normal as I could get. Smiling again I thought to how normal I wasn't, which now after years of trying to accept that, came easier to me. I had a awesome group of friends, no, scratch that-family, that I loved more than anything, that I would do anything for.
I could concentrate on baking those cookies. My smile stayed in place as I turned to face the others.
“All guys, lets get back on the bus and find a hotel somewhere close.” I said watching my family turn and limp back into the bus. We were going to be okay, somehow through it all and all that was going to happen, we would be okay.
