And I'm late reviewing because my friend was over this weekend so I literally only just finished watching. Usually I see what others have to say, think about it a while, then post a long, rambling review. But this time, I'm just gonna start writing and see where it takes me.

I don't really have a coherent plan for them: I just wanted to take snatches of audio from everywhere (probably songs) and make 10 - 20 second videos about...something key to that episode, to me so that at the end of the season I'd have a few minutes of footage that "recaps" my responses to the season. I have no idea how long I'll keep it up for: that'll depend on time, impetus, audio-choice-availability, etc. But it's a fun idea and I've had fun doing this one, at least.

YES. Exactly. It would be a wonderful contradictory message. Especially if Kara Thrace is a human prophet leading humanity to its destruction while the final four (and five? I still think the last cylon is UBER special, like God or something) make a multi-part (HYBRID) cylon prophet leading humanity to its salvation. Opposite tools. Kara Thrace is the tool of the cylon despite being human. The final four are...if not tools of humanity, certainly heralds of their salvation despite being cylon.

OMG I LOVE CRACKFIC! I think I read at least one of your Tory series while on my mad quest to discover stories that included Tory because there aren't many, but I'm not sure I read the rest. I shall go look for it! Hardcore sex het or slash isn't really my thing, but it's hardly something that I find disturbed or anything, and dammit, if it means more stories about Tory, I shall steal your girlslash goggles and have a look!

Opposite tools. Kara Thrace is the tool of the cylon despite being human. The final four are...if not tools of humanity, certainly heralds of their salvation despite being cylon.
I love the figure of "tools" because it = technology! one of the most fascinating and confusing aspects of the show's mytharc is the way that human and Cylon theology have been converging (like TV/Internet convergence!). I think this was always implied, but it's amazing how concertedly they're actually going there. I really believe that the endgame has to be humans and Cylons becoming indistinguishable (becoming US, modern Earth humans).

I absolutely agree. The inability to clearly distinguish humanform cylon from humans and the destruction of all firm physical boundries that separate us, is one of my absolute favourite parts of the show.

Thank you! I have gone and read. You already know I'm not the world's greatest smut fan, so take it as a compliment when I say that there's an awful lot of plot in that PWP ;) Which is, of course, the point. It works as a surprisingly, well, subtle framing device, Tory falling through all those women (because it strikes me that none of this was planned on her part: Tory isn't Starbuck, isn't Laura, isn't even Caprica - the fact that she's decisive and good at her job because she isn't sure how to have a self, all her identifications are external, that she perhaps mistakes ambition and desire for cunning and intelligence and doesn't understand how to want something just purely for herself: that feeling is alien - why yes, this is my fanon reading, hello! - is a hundred times more interesting now we know she's not a human at all...)
I guess I say it's subtle when I mean it's reverse subtle. It's the plot that sneaks in at the edges, because the sex is so there, and afterwards you realise - well, I realise - that the sex was the framing device all along. It's a sneaky and brilliant reversal.
Also, this reminds me of our discussions about first person vs third person POVs. You said you had a hard time with 1st person. Just so you now - your 1st person is just fine here. It's great. :)
