So I started playing it. I heard it wasn't as good as the first one. I think I'm about half way through? I'm enjoying it so far. I really like having a voiced character and I'm not against the decision to characterise Hawke as confident and sarcastic in quite a strong way, I think there's still enough leeway to create your own person there. So uh.... I've played through this thrice on the computer and six times on the PS3? So far? LOVE THE GAME. Achievement whore on it. Piece of advice? Not played the new DLC yet but the one that adds 5 hours of gameplay is SO WORTH IT and should be played at some point in act 3 for optimum fitting into canon. And Alistair is awesome and kinda (spoiler!) fits your post-game plan. (unspoiler!) So. GAME. LOVE IT. GOOD CHOICE.

Awesome! Glad to hear positive feedback on the game - I'm certainly having a great time so far. That's a pretty impressive list of playthroughs! I'm playing on XBox. I occasionally get jealous of the mods you can get on PCs but I run linux by choice, and on a laptop even if I did use windows, I probably wouldn't have the graphics card to run it. I'm aware of the irony of using the Microsoft console after badmouthing the Microsoft PC OS. :p ( ... )
