Every year our company has mandatory disaster preparedness trainings. You go to these trainings to be told what you're supposed to do in an emergency. Good theory, I understand why they are mandatory. However, they do the same training for everyone regardless of job function, which means that 90% of what they are saying is entirely irrelevant to IT and Admin. IT has their own disaster plan that is really entirely separate from what your average MA in Medical is doing, and is not covered in the training. So I get to go in about 15 minutes to sit through an hour of absolute irrelevance and pretend to be politely interested. At least I just got a new laptop yesterday so I can sit in the meeting and test it out.
