Sick sick sick

So on Monday, I got a 24 hour stomach bug and vomited twice. But after resting for the day I got better. Then Wednesday, my glands/throat wanted to EXPLODE and my ear wanted to die, so I got an appointment at the health center.
Guess why my life sucks? I have mono. The doctor gave me meds for four days to bring down the swelling in my glands and throat (which is why my ear hurt, because of the pressure), and advil has become my best friend for the pain. But it absolutely sucks. I have to take extreme care of myself, I'm not allowed to stay up late (even if I want to) and I have to get a lot of sleep in order to keep it from getting worse where I'd be exhausted even after like 12 hours of rest. My throat is still in a lot of pain though. And I'm just unhappy because I don't want to be sick, and this is not something that's just gonna go away after a few days but could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few MONTHS. Hopefully I'll feel physically better within a week, but I have to be careful with myself for awhile. I'm just glad I don't have to go home, because I'm really happy here and this way even if there are days where I can't do anything, I can still go to class and be functional on days where I'm feeling ok and not like sitting on my butt in my house. And obviously, I'm not allowed to kiss John which doesn't exactly make this any easier. He's been absolutely amazing with me though in terms of helping me out, making sure I get to sleep, etc.
Anyway, that's about it for now, that's the most interesting thing that's happened. I basically have my classes together for next semester, which I'm getting excited for. I am planning to take Advanced French Style & Composition, Intro to Cultural Anthropology, The Brain (focuses on how it processes things, the biological process, etc), Math 101, French Film Festival, and Jazz Technique I. Spring semester should be fantastic and even better than this one, which is already great. I'm also going to be in the January musicals and I'm getting ready for a short cabaret thing performing stuff by William Finn (one from "March of the Falsettos" and then the opening to "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee") as well as something with our student run theater group. Halloween was also fun, I dressed up as a homecoming queen, watched some movies, and went to a party. So that's my life.
'Till next time, I'm heading off to dinner and then a dance concert. Bye all. <3
