College
I leave for college in 4 days. WHAT THE HELL?!
It hit me at dinner tonight. Just like randomly a slap in the face as my parents and I talked about having my brother and grandmother over for dinner on Tuesday night to say goodbye, and after a day of buying new clothes, toiletries, etc. and going through stuff I'd already gotten for my dorm room. I'm so so excited, but also a little bit nervous understandably. I talked to roommate about a week and a half ago on the phone, and she seems really nice so I like her so far. Her name is Zoe, and she's also Jewish and into theater and performing. We're both pretty excited to meet each other, but we also didn't know what to say because it's really letting a total stranger into the details of our private lives. But it worked well. It's all so overwhelming though. And it's just so WEIRD! I feel like it's still lightyears away, but it's really really not. It's so fucking soon. I can't even believe it.
Matt leaves tomorrow and spent the entire day packing and we didn't really talk at all. At the moment, we're trying to keep it going. We made it through the entire summer, with only being able to talk every so often because of the lack of cell phone service, and then I saw him when he got home for some time and it was absolutely incredible (I'm sparing details on livejournal, so let's just leave it and you can trust me on that). So we're gonna try, because it's worth it and we're gonna attempt to see each other every other weekend or so, and take turns on who visits who. That's kinda cool though, because by visiting him a lot I'll also get to know a bit about his college life, campus, friends, and know what he's up to and be comfortable there. So yeah.
I think I'm done for now. I'm in the middle of transferring files from my old computer to this mac so that I have my entire hard drive on here once I leave on Thursday. Tomorrow I'm actually starting to get my clothes and toiletries into bags. I still have to go through my academic stuff to figure out what notebooks and stuff to take. I got a really cute purse today though that'll carry some of that so that was cool. Ok. Now I'm really finished. I have a feeling my next entry won't be until I get to Trinity. Here's to my last few days in the small world of Hastings on Hudson, NY....
