(no subject)
Well I am finally here. I will start with Saturday night.
I had no service on my phone in the hotel that we stayed in so I went outside to talk on the phone for a bit (man I'm gonna miss that boy). I walked around for about 15 - 20 minutes and talked on the phone. When I got back in I sat and played on my computer. I thought that there was a bug or something in my pajama pants because I kept feeling something tickling, but couldn't find anything when I checked.
Sunday morning I got up and was about to get in the shower and found out what the tickling was from...It was a freaking TICK!!! I have never had a tick before in all of my time doing the girl scout camp and all that. I kinda freaked out but I remembered hearing that you burn them with a match to get them to back out. Well having no matches I tried a lighter. Yea, I burned myself. Curtis laughed at me a lot when I told him I did that. I guess that you are supposed to light a match and let it burn until its hot, then blow it out and touch the tick with it and it will back out and you won't burn yourself. Oops. After pouring alcohol on it in vain, I just got frustrated and ripped it out with tweezers and luckily the whole think came out. So that was the way that the morning started out.
Then we made it to Omaha, and we went to make a half hour stop at my mom's aunts house. It turned into 2 hours. Then we had to drive through Missouri Valley where my grandma had grown up, even though we didnt know where there she had lived. We didn't even really get on the road until like three. I was annoyed by this just cause I wanted to get on the road. We ended up just kinda bickering until we got to the Illinois state line, then we all out fought about it and yelled for a bit. She told me to just drop her in Chicago and let her fly out of there. I was tempted. We ended up just not talking the whole rest of the night, for about 4 or 5 hours. It sucked. Fortunately by this morning things were chilled out.
I drove until about 3:00 AM EST and made it to Toledo. I crashed once I got there. Got up this morning and had an uneventful drive the rest of the way to MD. Once we got inside the MD state line traffic really slowed down and that sucked for awhile, but we finally got here at about 6:00 PM. Tonight we will stay in Gaithersburg with Julie's parents and then tomorrow I will ship my mom off and start getting some things moved up into the apartment. Tonight my mom and I are going to do some shopping to pick up a few things that I don't have yet.
Well that is the update for the trip. I am here now, start moving in to the apartment tomorrow, and I start work on Wednesday.
