He's 6'2" blond, with grey eyes.

He's 6'2"????? I didn't know that! I always thought he was closer to like 5'9" or 5'10"...

And for the longest time initially? I pictured him in my head as looking a lot like Thaao Penghlis, with that rugged dark coloring.... I've no idea WHY tho'. I've never figured it out. Always had his and Kelson's coloring backwards. And you'd think that I'd have understood his coloring since he and Duncan are so closely related and all.... *rolls eyes at self*

I've read that he came to Katherine Kurtz in a dream, that she had to write about him immediately.

Really? How fascinating. I know she had the dream about parts of the coronation from Deryni Rising....

lol Now of course I can't figure out where I heard exactly what his height is.

*Raises eyebrows.* I've always pictured him as Ladyhawke era Rutger Hauer.

Really? How fascinating.

*Nods.* I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but I did find this in The Deryni Archives (the book not the magazine,) --

THE DREAM THAT BECAME DERYNI ( ... )

And you know? The minute you mentioned Deryni Archives, I knew exactly what you were talking about. I remember reading that now.

In fact, Deryni Archives was what got me hooked on the universe in the first place.

Still not sure how I got the Thaao Penghlis looks for Morgan initially tho'....

I'm not sure if my dad's copy of Deryni Rising is first edition, all of his fantasy collection is bundled away in storage currently, but it was certainly first run. I had to get my own copy to be able to reread it. It's a 1990 printing so I've had it half my life. It was the first book I read, and Morgan's the character I immediately fell in love with.

Heh, maybe you thought when Kurtz was talking about Morgan's golden hair she was talking about his golden skin? *Bats eyelashes.* Oh, while we're on the subject of Deryni I've been meaning to ask, "Is Rhys Thuryn one of the guys from the Legends of Camber of Culdi I'm not suppose to mention?" *vbeg*

I admit I've fallen behind on both buying the books and reading them. I'm more behind on buying them. I've read all of the Heirs of Camber books she's written so far, but the last one I bought was Harrowing of Gwynedd. ( ... )

Oh, Rhys Thuryn.... *drools* I've had a thing for him and his wife for a long, long time.... Nothing against the sons of Camber, but yeah, the Healer pushes many, many buttons for me....

I actually bought and read In the King's Service. I was both impressed and unimpressed, if that makes any sense. I won't give any spoilers unless you want them, but it did answer a lot of questions, whether for good or bad....

I even got a poster of the map of Gwynedd for my birthday from a good friend. All I'm missing atm is the Codex Deryianus [sp?] and the "fanzine"/magazine series. Outside of having special editions of everything, of course....

I first read Deryni Archives back in 1987 and was hooked. And I've even "made" myself a set of warding cubes that I need to work with more often....

I'm not sure if he's the character I like best in the universe after Morgan, but I liked him an awful lot.

It makes sense, or as much as it can without my having read the book.

Hmm, I think I prefer to stay unspoiled thanks. :)

Heh, the most... ah... esoteric Deryni item I own is Deryni Magic (A Grimoire).

All I'm missing atm is the Codex Deryianus [sp?] and the "fanzine"/magazine series.I think the reason my... dedication wained was with the Chronicles and the Kelson books the characters I cared about survived. With the Camber books and the Heirs books the characters I liked died. I mean I've got 12 Deryni books, 6 from the series that I liked, the 3 Camber books, 1 Heirs book, the Archives short ( ... )

And on the Thaao Penghlis as Morgan thing? I think it was his "sinister" attitude/appearance to others.... That was during the height of the evil twin saga on Days of Our Lives....

Heh, I haven't read the books in a while, but I probably wrote any "sinister attitude/appearance" off to a combination of his being Deryni, and a great warrior. I know it's common for "hardened" warrior characters, whether they're medieval fantasy ones or James Bond, to be describe like that. 8-)
