Er, I should probably back up and explain. Some of you may remember last year my excited discovery of a free local convention put on by a local library. Well, they ran Cirque du Geek again this year. It was their fifth year it turns out, even if it was sadly only my second. They managed to go in on a grant with a local arts organization called Waterville Creates which allowed them to have more guests this year, and make use of more space outside of the library itself. One of the benefits of additional space was being able to do more cosplay events Saturday. One of the new events this year was a cosplay death match tournament. Things starting to make more sense now? Last year my cosplay simply consisted of putting on my Loki hoodie and going. This year I actually put some work into a shadowhunter cosplay. I wanted to be a crossplay of Alec Lightwood, but I wound up more of a hodgepodge so I called myself Alexandra Lightwood-Herondale. It's my cosplay I can be as Mary Sue as I want. ;b Apparently it was fine by the crowd. Lexie beat Batman in the first round. I made the final, and frankly if I'd been in the crowd I'd have voted for the World of Warcraft troll that won. No sane shadowhunter would've voluntarily taken him on alone.

We are finally getting the standing seam steel roof my father wanted for us before he died. I got my testing done like he wanted, and now we're getting the roof done... mostly like he wanted. I don't think the color we're getting it done in would have been his first choice. At any rate we are slowly managing to fulfill things he wanted for us. It feels good to be accomplishing things, but sad to know there are fewer and fewer things I know he wanted to take care of. Is that weird?
