1) I made the Dean's List, which some of you might have figured from my average for Spring Semester, but it isn't actually that simple. I'm only going three quarter time rather than full time so I'm not eligible for the Dean's List each semester. Part time students are only eligible for a once a year Dean's List, and you have to maintain your grades over the whole year. I am not that great at that. I'd like to think making the Dean's List means that being an English Major is really truly what I was always supposed to be, even if it took me forever to accept that. Better late than never, right?
2) I'm still very pleased that the Supreme Court (U.S.) voted in favor of the Affordable Care Act subsidies and same sex marriage. There was so much excitement about the same sex vote I'm not sure how many people noticed that the Court's latest ruling on the ACA was a 6 to 3 decision rather than the initial 5 to 4. It was good to see not only the support, but that shifting in support. The ACA isn't perfect, but it is helping a lot of people.
3) I've got a few story ideas I'm tempted to run with thanks to playing a bit with a
12 Characters Meme generator
john_amend_all posted last week. The ideas go--
a- Thomas Raith and Loki are now buddy cops.
b- ...an apocalyptic fic featuring Erik Lehnsherr and Rhys.
c- Thor, Rhys and Bucky Barnes go on an epic road trip.
Apparently I have a thing for super characters that aren't actual gods (Thomas, Erik, and Bucky) hanging out with actual gods (Loki, Rhys, and Thor). Trust me Rhys is a god. Okay, so his own author doesn't have just which god he is right. I blame the people she took as experts on the fae. I mean when they've got her calling them "fey" instead of "fae" you know they don't even understand the English language. When I initially played with the generator last week I told
john_amend_all I'd let my subconscious pick a winner. He asked how it went, and the following day I told him my subconscious picked a Rhys and Bucky road trip. Thor got left at the first stop on the trip. I might do a dream write up for that one sometime.
