...I've had to make icons which will be at the end of this post. ;)
I dragged my heels about seeing The Avengers for some time. I had a variety of reasons for not wanting to see it, some that turned out to be fully justified, and others that didn't. I put up my post declaring I had finally seen it January 4th, 2013. I only saw the first Thor film after I saw the Avengers, while I hadn't liked things I'd heard they'd done in the Thor film, I had to see more of Tom Hiddleston as Loki. (I still think Mark Rufallo as Bruce Banner and Tom Hiddleston as Loki are the best parts of The Avengers.) I saw Thor 2 during it's original theatrical run, but I'm not writing Loki. I'm actually playing Thor to someone else's Loki in an RPG. I said back on July 30th, 2012, "I will see The Hollow Crown when it airs on PBS. I will watch it for Jeremy Irons. I am in no rush to see it before then." I did see it then. I liked it enough to get it on DVD, but I haven't done much re-watching of most of it. It's four plays--three of which have Tom Hiddleston in them. I've only really re-watched the Henry V repeatedly. It finally occurred to me March 17th, 2014 that I needed to update my
Top Ten Shakespeare On Film with that Henry V. Still, the way Tom's been appearing, in a series of dreams I've had, isn't exactly as Henry V. It is as a "King Harry," but he's a wizard-king.
The dreams involve Harry, his cousin Hal, his uncle Oscar, his dragon companion Shari, and Hal's dragon companion Samael (who I eventually learned was once Oscar's companion.) King Harry looks a lot like Tom's Henry V with very red hair. Prince Hal is his younger cousin who looks a lot like a younger Tom with very curly--very blond hair. I have been Harry's dragon companion Shari so I haven't had a good long look at my dream form. In general my dream form tends to look like Jennifer Garner before she started having kids with Ben Affleck. I do know my form in these dreams, the one that I had been thinking of as my human one, is only "humanoid." It has gold eyes, not "golden," but actually metallic. I'd wondered about it as soon as I saw that Samael's eyes are silver. Samael looks look Benedict Cumberbatch during Sherlock's first season, only with very black hair and those silver eyes. Evil evil uncle Oscar looks like Ian McKellan circa the first X-Men movie. He'd probably look like Ian's Richard III if I'd ever managed to properly see that film. I've taken to thinking of the story being told over the course of the many different dreams so far, when I'm not just thinking of it as Harry's story, as "The Three Kingdoms Saga." See all the conflict in the dreams comes from Oscar's father, Harry and Hal's grandfather, having divide his single kingdom into three. He gave a piece to Oscar, and one to each of his brothers--Harry's and Hal's fathers. Oscar wants to make the three kingdoms once more one. It might not be a bad idea if Oscar wasn't an evil bastard, and he wasn't prepared to do all manner of evil things trying to accomplish his goal.
I don't know when or how the dreams will end, but I know Tom is a big part of them. I had to make a batch of Tom Hiddleston as Henry V icons to try and rein my Harry the wizard-king in.
