I missed Wreck-It Ralph, Rise of the Guardians, and Skyfall. I didn't want to miss The Hobbit too. I finally managed to see it Friday. I loved it! I mean I knew I'd love Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving, and Christopher Lee. Most of them I saw in the previous trilogy, and I feel Martin was born to play Bilbo Baggins. I didn't know if I'd get any of Benny's performance. He gets billed, but he didn't say a word in it. I heard more of his beautiful voice during the trailers. One of them was for Star Trek Into Darkness. I didn't know how I'd feel about all the dwarves. I'm still not sure how I feel about many of them. I know I like Thorin, Balin, and Bofur, and I know my favorite of the dwarves is definitely Kili! I've had friends trying to encourage me to check out Aidan Turner in the British version of Being Human for years. I couldn't muster the interest. I might now. Aidan was really lovely in the film. I want more!

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
1) What are you currently reading?
2) What did you recently finish reading?
3) What do you think you’ll read next?
1) Naked City edited by Ellen Datlow. It's a short story collection full of urban fantasy stories. Some of the writers I'm familiar with, some I've been meaning to check out, and some I don't know at all. So far the biggest thing it's done is remind me how much I love Richard/Alec from Ellen Kushner's Swordspoint.
2) Cold Days by Jim Butcher. It had enough of Thomas, Bob, and Murph to keep me from missing Michael too much and from losing my patience with Harry's whinging. That man didn't seem to have much need of his staff, blasting rod, or shield bracelet to me.
3) I'm torn between three choices--
Doctor Who: Shada by Douglas Adams and Gareth Roberts, it's the Classic Who serial Douglas Adams never finished completed by a New Who writer.
Redoubt by Mercedes Lackey, the latest book in Misty's latest Valdemar series.
The Steel Remains by Richard K. Morgan, I'm curious to see if the places that have recommended it to me have been right to even suggest it to me.
There are times I really wish I had more time and energy to work on fanfic along with school work, original fic, and the RPing.
jinxed_wood asked for some prompts. I gave her the first half dozen that came to my mind. I don't know how many of them she might use, but after I wrote them down there were three I wished I could do something with myself. x_x If you'd like to look at the prompts and make some guesses as to which I like best they're over
here in her journal.
