A little early?

A customer wished me "Happy Holidays" yesterday.  I have to say, despite the early preparations for the Holidays with the merchandise, red fabric in the doll case, etc,  it did throw me off a little bit.   I realize they were saying it because they were from Louisiana and would not be back up here before the holidays but still it was unexpected.  
I suppose there is no harm in the greeting, and it's quite nice of them, but I think I will hold off wishing Happy Thanksgivings, and  Merry Christmases and all until Thanksgiving week.
