Weekend Report
What I did this weekend:
Friday- Worked then went to the summer kick-off party for Youth Group. It was too cold to swim but I met the cutest little baby mallard duck, played some bocce then sat by the fire. I love camp fires even sans s'mores.
Saturday- Slept in longer than Nathan (shocker, I know)! Then I went to work and after work I went to the Relay for Life. I got there just about 9pm when they start the illuminarium. They have candles in bags with the names of cancer victims that light up the whole track, and they do a reading of the names of cancer victims/survivors that people donated money in honor of. It was beautiful. I walked until about 10:30pm and then headed home. THANK YOU to EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED ME IN THE RFL!!!!
Sunday- Day off!!! Went to church and realized they really should not bother having a second service in the summer (I think there were all of 12 people there). Then we went out to Nate's aunt + uncle's place on the lake where we ate chili, went kayaking, distracted his aunt+ uncle from getting work done and later went on a boat ride. Despite my headache it was a very nice day. And we have chili leftovers for the rest of the week.
All in all, not a bad weekend and work is looking up. People are buying lots of toys now that summer has hit. Thank goodness for tourists!
