truly scary

This is among the scariest things i have read in a long time. i was sure this had to be satire, albeit not very good as satire, as the arguments are bloated in some places and riddled with holes in others... however, going up a level & checking more into the source, this is from a textbook for ministers from some scary religious zealot group. cats are promiscuous? cats are unclean? cats were present at herod's beheading of john-the-baptist, so obviously they are guilty by association? cats were familiars of those who were convicted at the salem witch trials, so surely they are the servants of satan? not having to buy cat food frees one up for loads more time to devote to the watchtower group's aims & the service of 'the kingdom'? i guess it is of no interest to these people that there were no witches, that science has proven that cats are among the world's cleanest animals, that other animals attempt to mate far more prolifically than cats, and that not having opposable thumbs, it is a pretty safe bet that no cats were wielding the blade that chopped off anybody's head.

as 'a person of the world', this diatribe is intended to confront me, to which i say, bring it on please. i'll take your cats off your hands; that will free you up to worry about finding a way around those pesky secular laws that "unfortunately," currently prevent you from stoning your unruly children...

(how is this kind of thing even possible in 2007?!)
