(no subject)
I keep meaning to post about the new Star Trek movie, but every time I start to post I get distracted by other things and never get around to it. (Some of those things happen to be really good Kirk/Spock/Uhura fic, but nevermind!)
I loved the movie though, it was awesome (to quote both my icon and Wil Wheaton).
I grew up watching Star Trek (all series and movies) with my Dad, and I really enjoyed this new version of something I grew up loving so much. I'm also really glad it didn't turn out like Star Wars - I loved the original trilogy, and the new trilogy was ok, but it just wasn't the same as the originals. It felt like J.J Abrams was much more true to the original series, but still managing to update it and expand on the original source material so that it became something new and exciting as well.
In honour of the movie, I have a new mood theme made by awakencordy. I have also changed my layout (credit to
sixteen) and made a new header image - yesterday was a day for pretty graphics :)
