INHALE - EXHALE - INHALE - EXHALE
ahhh, the sounds of my bestest friend from across the cubicle...
Well, I'm bored here at work. Today I'll just be floundering until the bossman has time for me... probably won't get a new assignment until tomorrow, so I think I'll make good use of my time and update the LJ:
This weekend was fun. The weather prohibited us from Hershey, but Keppel Schimmel and I just hung out saturday - did some shopping, then watched some PSU. Bruce is on my list. He lives less than 30 min. away and I never see him because he goes to church groups and bible studies 6/7 days a week! I'm all for the religious awakening, but what good is an epiphany if it excludes everything else from your life?
I finally went to the Presbyterian church downtown this week. It's a pretty small congregation, and 90% elderly. They also have a contemporary service. I've researched other churches in the area, and a lot of them are contemporary... what's with this place? Do they feel they need to apeal to younger people that much, what gives? I just want a traditional minister giving a sermon, some hymns, recite some prayers, and then be on my way. I don't wanna join hands and sing in a circle, wave my arms in the air, pray aloud, and watch a video. I think I'm getting turned off by religion... I may just start my own little service at home!
I've been thinking about Christmas lately. I'm going to have 2 car payments btw now and then, so I'm still gonna have to be thrifty this year with my gifts. I really want to get away from the home-made crap. Yeah, I do like little artsy things, and everyone seems to enjoy my creativity, but I'm no longer a poor college student so I don't have any excuses. And I think I have to get away from the 2-for-1 deal and buy individual presents for Brian, Mel, Beth, and Jeff. I already have one little thing for Jeff, kinda an inside joke, but it's not enough.
The ironic thing, is that I LOVE shopping for people! And I love wrapping presents and all that good stuff. Hopefully the Christmas bonuses are heafty this year!
