So I spent the weekend in Oklahoma. Let me just say I have never seen such an expanse of flat, nearly treeless grass in my life. And all the roads are grid-style so you can see for miles behind and miles ahead on them because its so flat and they never turn. And there are no clouds. It is gorgeous. But I missed my good ole georgia trees. I had a great weekend. Michael's show was really good and it was the best performance I've ever seen him give.
I love flying. Everything seems right in the world when its so far away and you are cut off from it all. Its so easy to forget about reality when you're in the clouds, or when you just feel as though you're walking on them. In a plane, its just you and the other passengers..its really very intimate, but eventually you must say goodbye to them and go back to the real world. On the plane, I met this really nice guy who was returning from iraq to see his family for the first time in a year; on the way back I sat next to an insurance salesman who had been visiting his girlfriend. I talked with both of them about missing people you are close to. Anyway, now, I'm sitting at home (I'm driving back in the morning), I still feel as though I'm in my own little world. I'm still euphoric from being with Michael all weekend. I miss him already.
