I was juust talkin to eddie about how he wishes his parents had made him learnt o master an instrument and thinking about michael and all the instruments he can play (violin, bass guitar, a little piano, guitar, a little drums). And plunking out tunes miserably on the piano in the lobby...man it's been too long since I played.... And I was thinking about all the things we allwish we could be and do. I wish I was an amazing pianist. or a singer. Or a gymnast. Or a dancer. And I thought about how everyone has so many capabilities they overlook in themselves. Drew is such a good poet and thinker. Michael has such a knack for anything involving rhythm. Erin is so organized. Everyone has so many good qualities. For anyone reading this, you should sit down and make a list of gifts you have that you take for granted. I dunno. Just a thought.
I love Harry Potter. I am reading the fourth book...yes I know I'm behind...but at least I'm catching up before the movie comes out. I love it. I love being lost in a world with troubles so different from the monsters I face--term papers, exams, speeches. I don't know. I love being lost in books. It makes me happy. I've been valuing my alone time alot more recently. I've gotten a lot more comfortable with college lately. Originally I could never stand to be alone. Now I really enjoy curling up on my couch with good old Harry and Ron and Hermione. I wish I had a broomstick. I wish I could apparate.
I love photographs. I love memories and I think photographs are like tangible memories.
I'm so excited about my future career. I've been researching autism for my term paper in psychology and I love reading about the role of speech pathologists. It's so intriguing. I spent 3 hours in the science library today and I felt like Hermione. Have you ever thoguht about what it would be like to think only in pictures? That's how autism has been described. I find that intriguing. Try it. Like thinking in pictures. I wonder if sentences could be tangible memories for autistics since we think in words and remember in photographs--maybe they think in photographs and remember in words.
