My big baby boy!
So I was going to wait to post until tomorrow but was just to excited not too! My baby boy crawled for the first time today! He crawled across the living room right to me! So excited but mildly scared. The basement steps are really steep. Hopefully the baby gates will hold him as he gets really rough with things when they are in his way. He starts by grunting at them. Then smacking. Craziness insues from there. lol. Its crazy how he is progressing. He now sits himself up with ease although still has some issues with balance when he goes to pick things up off the floor. Occasionally he will hit his head on the floor. Oh my love. I also cant post how happy I am about the crawling or sitting up so on facebook so it can be a surprise for my mom when she sees him on Friday. He has decided standing is a good thing. Grr. I am sure one of the next few mornings i am going to come in to get him and he will be standing there looking at me. He wants to stand in his baby chair and I can see that tipping on him. Also yesterday, I went downstairs with the baby to get hotdog buns out of the freezer. I put him in an empty laundry basket so I could dig threw the freezer for them. He was thrilled! He wouldnt let me take him out of the basket. Usually puts his arms up to me when he wants to be picked up but he was having no part of it. So I said fine. I put the buns in the basket with him and picked both to bring upstairs. He is so rolly, i had issues bringing him up safely but managed to get us both upstairs. He was sitting happily in the basket so I decided to do the dishes and then start dinner. I turn around and he is standing in the basket. OMG. I grab the basket but he seems to be fine. I snap a few photos and then he sits down and starts playing again. I start loading the dish washer again and he decides standing is a good idea again. This time I wasnt quite fast enough to catch him and he hit his poor baby face and forehead on the dishwasher. Geez. He cried but still didnt want to come out after i comforted him. I got Sophie to climb in the basket with him so that if he tried it again..A. The basket wouldnt tip or B. she could hold on to him and finally C. Distract him before he decides its a good idea. He was happy after that until he decided that he was hungry then all bets were off.
My little guy seems to have one health issue after another. None serious but he still has them. They are finally going to get him tested for allergies although they told me it could take up to 9 months to get an appointment but usually with small babies like him they try there best to get it sooner. Now Lucas has a cyst on his eyelid. Yuck. It sounds way grosser that it is. The doctor didnt seem too concerned about it. She told me to put a warm cloth on his eye three times a day for 10-15mins and it should go away relatively quickly. Sounds easy in theory. In practice not so much. He fights me. Kicking, pinching,screaming. Its a good time. She told me to try when he is sleepy or sleeping. It would be easier that way. No it just makes him more cranky. Oh well tonight before bed he stopped fighting it after about 5 mins but I think it more had to do with the fact that I was rocking him in the rocking chair and it was an hour past his regular bed time. I hope the cyst goes away really quickly and doesnt return.
Taking a break from the song meme today. This is just a song for pleasure since the song on the meme today is supposed to be a sad one and Im just in a pretty good mood. Today wasnt perfect but it was pretty good. I heard this song last week on The Voice. Incredible show. Kinda like American Idol but more talented. The last duet was incredible. You tube it if you get a chance ( vicki martinez and nikki dawson duet the voice 5/10) Anyways i digress. I heard this song last week on the voice and I loved it. Then heard it again on glee tonight and loved it again( more..still) Anyways I went and looked it up on you tube. Its Rolling in the Deep by Adele. The live version. I feel it sounds better. Amazing voice! Just love it. So I you tubed a bunch of her songs. I am so going to buy the cd. I havent done that in a while but love it that much. Here it is for all of you to enjoy!
Ok must go to bed now. Tomorrow is going to be a really busy day(well the rest of the week til we go is going to be busy but its my best friends birthday tomorrow and i am cooking a three course meal plus have to clean house. Craziness will insue)and I should really get a goodnight sleep. Or some sleep at least.
